Title: [IMPORTANT] DO NOT USE UNOCOIN
Post by: ani4444 on August 06, 2015, 10:45:59 AM
I deposited 0.3997 BTC to my account and even after 14 confirmations it is not showing in my account.
I called their cc and they give some bs about blockchain issue, I was aware that unocoin does not have any backend but running an exchange using Blockchain API is completely incompetent, even faucets think twice before using blockchain API. I dont understand what do people do with the fundings they receive, is it just to show off and get publicity?

I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CANNOT CREDIT BALANCE IN MY ACCOUNT WHEN MY SENDING TRANSACTION IS CONFIRMED, WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOME FORWARDING MECHANISM TO WORK WHICH THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF IMPLEMENTING CORRECTLY.

SUCH PEOPLE ARE SPOILING BITCOIN IN INDIA, PLEASE AVOID.

There must be a genuine reason behind it.Sometime's things does goes wrong.
The same happened with me when I was trading at coinbase.
They said something went wrong in the blockchain and blamed it on the bitcoin network. But they finally repaid me 0.1 BTC after a long mail conversation  :D.

I am sure it must have also happened with foreign exchanges at some point of time. It also doesn't happen with all deposits. Have they corrected it for you now ?
If the blockchain API was giving them problems regularly they would have changed it by now.

AFAIK, following APIs are being used by various Indian exchanges...

1. Unocoin.com - blockchain.info

2. Coinsecure.com - coinbase.com

3. Btcxindia.com - blockonomics.co

4. 100bit.co.in - I dont know

5. Zebpay.com - I dont know

It has been more than 12 hrs and more than 78 confirmations to my deposit but nothing in my wallet.
I tried calling them again in evening but no one picks up.
I opened a ticked but no response so far.
I messaged dashingriddler about the issue but no response.

I understand that things go wrong but in this case my deposits have been credited to their deposit address, now how they deal with it after that is their problem,if they dont know how to manage their hot wallet/cold wallet , then why I am suffering for that. It is just like you give me an address, I send you bitcoins at that address and then you say that you cannot take out bitcoins of your address so you will not pay me. Do you think it is right?

Excuse me??
Coinsecure does not using any 3rd Party Bitcoin API and it is coinsecure.in, not .com.

Yes I am waiting, waiting for last 24 hrs for my deposits to show up. Waiting was still ok if they can tell how long to wait, I tried calling them again but they dont pick up, they dont update my support ticket, no response to PM, even they have not posted anything here.
Do they need permission from blockchain/Satoshi to respond?

He doesn't seem to have logged in since before OP was made.
I have no doubts that they will resolve this. Possibly bad response times is the problem here.

Hello
We implemented blockchain.info api when it was one of the best known wallet and api. We did not face any issues with it for an year and half but we started facing issues from July 2015. https://www.unocoin.com/post/394
However the issue sorted out by blockchain.info after about 4-5 days and things were back to normal. It is not that we do not know how to implement it.

It is not that there is no one at customer care to pick up your call but most of the times there will be an on going call for the representatives and hence they wont be able to pick yours up. You would just the ringing sound and voice message from our system to keep you occupied instead of an engage sound.

However we decided to work on an alternative and we have worked through for the rest of that month and have implemented api from bitgo. Bitgo as of now is considered industry standard (exchanges like bitstamp uses them for hot wallet).

Yesterday we have issued new wallet address for all our users. Announcement here https://www.unocoin.com/post/410

From now on, please use your new bitcoin address to accept deposits to your wallet. We have been using this on batches of customers since the start of this week and it has been working awesome.

Regarding the issue you are facing now, I am not able to find any ticket which resembles ani444. The mechanism that we have been using has been explained in our FAQ and if we face any issue with our vendor, then we work to get it sorted out. Since yesterday the issue with blockchain.info has again turned up and forwarding is getting delayed. We have written about this to them and our ticket has got escalated and is looked into. It is slowly getting cleared and hope yours will clear soon as well. As we have made it as an automated process, we wont be able to interfere to do anything here. But just know that if you do not use your old bitcoin address again, this will be the last time you will be facing this issue.

Just saw i had replied to your other message yesterday where I have given you the info about the delay and change of address already..

Quote

The deposit has reached your account before I saw this message. Anyway, it is an automated process and we are using blockchain's API to receive bitcoins into customer wallets which some times take more confirmations than required to inform our service about your deposit. We are aware of this and have implemented a new mechanism already. As a part of it, you will be receiving a new bitcoin address for your Unicoin wallet in next two days.

Regards

-- Thank you for everyone else who have believed that we will sort out the issue if one appears, and not letting this thread go bonkers.

Regarding the issue you are facing now, I am not able to find any ticket which resembles ani444.
Ticket number #2968947 Still unresolved and No updates on the ticket.
Since yesterday the issue with blockchain.info has again turned up and forwarding is getting delayed.
So if you have an issue with forwarding why are you making the customer suffer when his deposit has reached in your wallet and confirmed. Suppose tomorrow  blockchain.info fails completely then you will say that it is customer's problem and not yours.
this will be the last time you will be facing this issue.
Obviously, you dont need to tell, this is the last time I am going to use your service and suffer.

Your bitcoins have got forwarded and has reached your Unocoin wallet. Your ticket has got replied as well with this same info.

As explained to you, we opted to utilize blockchain.info API when their service was unmatched. When we saw issues with them, we have chosen the industry standard alternative.

I have explained the reason for issue, the actions we have considered and the solution we have provided to avoid this in future. You may give us one more chance to be of service to you.

Thank you

Before you trust BitGo, check...

ii. https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/292mn9/bitgocom_is_full_of_bugs_too_scared_to_send/

At blockchain.info, you are at least sure that the funds will be forwarded... today or tomorrow. BitGo might lose the fund altogether (as explained in one of the link above) and that would be a bigger pain than the delay caused by blockchain.info.

We have implemented the multi sig wallets for both accepting bitcoin and for sending out bitcoin. so we control the bitcoin addresses that we use - so even if they disappear, we do not lose access to our bitcoin. On the other end, the way multi sign works in this case is, our server does a part of the signature while their server do another part and then broadcase it - which essentially means, they do not have all the keys to do the full signature themselves to take away our bitcoin.

There is also an insurance coverage of 250k if something goes wrong and if you happen to lose your bitcoin.

Did you receive the depoits in your wallet or not yet? And unfortunately today market has crash from 7404+ to 710$ currently.  This is bad as you have ended up with loss without any of your fault. How will Unocoin resolve his any case, any idea?

Simple question to you all - Is Darshan responsible for this loss?

Hello Darshan,
We were facing an intermittent DNS issue which made us to lose info on a few dozen deposits and seems yours was one of it. It got fixed in next 4 hours and we have taken measures to mitigate such technical issue in future. I am happy to assist if you still are facing an issue with this deposit.

Thanks
