Title: Should the Deepwebs adopt Monero [XMR]?
Post by: newrad on August 06, 2015, 07:39:23 PM
There is talk circulating the internet that the deepwebs market may adopt Monero due to it's safety and anonymity.
I personally think it's a good decision due to Bitcoin being somewhat traceable.

My question is, if the deepwebs were to adopt Monero how soon should they do it? Because it seems like the price of Monero is going to skyrocket soon. Should the deepwebs wait until XMR stabilizes a bit?

Also anyone have any other thoughts in regards to the deepwebs discussing Monero adoption?

Thanks.

Pretty simple and lame marketing attempt :). I told you guys a couple of times, it would be beneficial to read at least something like the Marketing for dummies.

BTW the "Deepwebs" is a quite diverse and unorganized mess so it's unlikely to "adopt" anything. Maybe some site owners will decide to use monero others will stick to BTC and LTC and some maybe go for DRK...DASH... or whatever name it's called this week.

Might there be any issues with deepweb users needing to figure out a command line interface and commands?

Everyone should adopt Monero, the sooner people realized how important breakthrough it is the better our collective future as autonomous and empowered individuals will be.

This could also be an attempt to discredit Monero, it's from a new account.

To OP: Monero is going up because people want to buy a lot now fast.

I don't think the deepwebs will adopt Dash, due to the fact it has already been established to be a failed currency.
It's not anonymous, and is easily traceable by the masternodes.

Monero on the other hand is completely anonymous and steadily rising in value.

So far no one has adopted any CryptoNight coin for anything...
They are not safe/stable enough to be money...
I've done 1000s of transfers and lost very few... but I've lost at least a dozen XMR, BCN, BBR transfers.

Monero is all Hype...
While ByteCoin is a massive Pump by the original team that probably owns > 50% of the coin.

Volume for BCN averaged < $5,000/day for 6 months...
Now this Mega-Pump? This can be trusted? This is "money"?

lol... masternodes can't trace anything unless you have basically all of them, which you don't.

Where is the cryptanalysis proving your assertion?

Need multisig before this is even plausible. Too many shady DMNs...

Markets can use multisig'd BTC internally, with XMR as the on/off ramp.  It's easy with xmr.to and shapeshift.

Certainly, but I would hate to think the end game is to persist the tie to BTC.

Every time this comes up it is claimed that DNMs hardly use multisig in practice. I don't know whether that is true.

So xmr.to and shapeshift have tor hidden services?

You can not say the deepnet should use or accept Monero. The deepnet is not a central organization but a sum of many many people with own interests. There are a lot of them which already accept coins like DASH, or even some who accept Shadow. if they get convinced that Monero is a good and secure payment option then they will accept it from time to time.

The day that Monero gets accepted on the Deep Web, will be the day that XMR's price will increase to the moon! Maybe they would accept it since it's an anonymous coin. Just my opinion  ::)
