In the sermon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Farrakhan said he was looking for "10,000 in the midst of the million ... 10,000 fearless men who say death is sweeter than continued life under tyranny" to retaliate against white Americans because of their alleged oppression of black people.

Farrakhan said the Quran calls for retaliation when "slaves" are oppressed.

"Retaliation is a prescription from God to calm the breath of those whose children have been slain. So if the federal government will not intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us. Stalk them and kill them and let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling," Farrakhan said.

I have to say that I came into this article pretty skeptical that it was going to pan out, both because of the tendency to exaggerate headlines in this forum and the source of the quote. But the video let me see it in his own words, and although a bit of of context, it certainly looks like he's calling for 10,000 murderers to step forward.

I'm looking for 10,000 fearless volunteers to murder innocent people for the cause. I'm not one of them, of course, which is why I need you all to do it for me.

Martin Luther King, Jr. he is not. So much for the doctrine of non-violence.

It seems he's reading a book where perpetuating the cycle of violence brings about all his desires with no adverse consequences. (Unless you're one of the victims of his army of 10,000 fearless justice administrators, that is...)

Also he is not a good leader. If you preach it, be in front of your army, lead your army. Even in a wheel chair. Don't be a coward.

Guy knows where the ledge is and how to manipulate the peoples. To bad people like this get trumped up on loud soapboxes.

Farrakhan's comments stem from his radical theology, in which white people are seen as intrinsically evil because they were created by an evil black scientist, Yakub, who rebelled against God thousands of years ago. God, to Farrakhan, is a black man who created only black men.

Farrakhan also has an intense hatred for the Jews, describing them as a mongrel race and the head of international conspiracy against Muslims. After Sept. 11, Farrakhan said Jews from Israel had placed bombs inside of the World Trade Center towers

UFOs, or "wheels" as he calls them (referencing Ezekiel 1), occupy a prominent place in Farrakhan's theology. For the NOI leader, they are not spaceships containing visitors from a strange planet, but instruments of the coming divine judgment on white America and the U.S. government. He has prophesied that the time for that judgment is drawing near.

Yeah! I guess he is a hater of many people! Why can't he go along with them? Seems like the "return" of Hitler(aka modern Hitler) to me!

he speaks a lot of truth but this is ridiculous. blacks have no chance of ever winning a race war against whites and shouldn't even think about starting one.

If he hates the whites so much, then why can't he go back to Africa (along with his followers) and establish a colony there. Well... this was attempted a few centuries ago (in Liberia and Sierra Leone), but it wasn't very successful back then. But I am sure that with the multi-billion dollar funding which he currently possess, Farrakhan will be able to create his own nation in Africa.

He's a racist, just like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (oh wait, blacks can't be racists.  Only whites can be racists ::))

This is the same Louis Farrakhan that declared that Barack Obama is a messiah, so I'd be more than a little concerned when he starts preaching violence.

I think people should pay a lot of attention, never trust someone that ask you to die for something if he is not the first person leading the charge.

You add the right dynamics and any group can be pushed and manipulated into dying for a cause.
When you are born into a corrupt system that offers you jail,sports or the military to get a better life,its easier to fall into a movement that may offer a new way.

We talk a lot about these supposed black leaders,yet every time I see them they are baiting people into unrest. Will be nice when they die off and we can stifle the new blood before they get a hold of a generation. Its such a melting pot in my neck of the woods,I hope this stuff just fades out of the picture. Its a a gambit to keep people from uprising and seeing the way the world really operates.

Who would be in those pictures now, and why?

I heard about Farrakhan long time ago.
He often gave such shocking talks but never anything spectacular happened afterwards.
I think that he wants to mobilize his church only and not to embark on concrete action against others.
What he asks from the government is monetary compensation for all the black people for crimes of whites during slavery and independent black state in USA.
It is clear that both requests are unrealistic and will never be realized but well serve the purpose of mobilization of his own members.

His argument is plain wrong. At least in the Americas, far more Native Americans were enslaved when compared to the Africans. Most of the Native American slaves died of various introduced diseases, for which they had no immunity. On the other hand, the African slave population increased due to the higher birth rates.  Also, there were other races which were enslaved in the US. Asians and even Whites (esp. the Irish) were enslaved.

He might be able to get his own indepedent black state in the USA in a small prison room with bars.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people who he's talking to are going to ignore this. no one in the right mind believes a race war would be a good thing for anyone.

Have to remenber a lot of the early days of NOI was recruiting from prisons. So dealing with that four or more generations of poverty, you start to see why his message is working. Give those without a voice a cause and you got yourself a issue.
