Hello,

I need a 0.065 loan to buy a gift for my girlfriend's birthday, I'm short of these and have no way of buying them today or tomorrow.

I got collateral in LTC but the store I'm buying from only accepts BTC. Terms:

Loan - 0.065
Repayment - 0.077
Time - Will repay on 12 August
Collateral - 4.2 LTC

Your collateral is only worth ~.062 btc, so you are either going to need to come up with more collateral or lower the amount of your loan. The value of the collateral should be worth no less then 115% of the amount of the loan.

why not just trade the ltc ?

alt coins could be as risky as not your expectation, even if the collateral is large enough, if the value was suddenly crashed, it would be ended up in loss. all'n'all alt coins has no actual value guarantee.

yea, at least it won't be liable for the losses even if the price dropped (but you would be jelly if the price raised rapidly).

i may be able to lend you .06 btc within the next 2 days, no collateral necessary (because of the price risk); 14 days period, payback .07 in total.

It should be pretty obvious that he is impersonating the OP, and you should not send any BTC to that address.

Yes, that would work but I'll have to see if I can get the rest from some gambling site faucets. If not, the amount is not helping me. Let me know when you can lend me and I'll tell you at that time if I got the difference.

payback period is within up to 14 days.
if you are with bells on to put your ltc to escrow, please go it for, and tell the escrow to inform me to lend you.
once i got informed by escrow, i will send lending as soon as funds avaliable.

I can give you a 0.06BTC loan, payback would be 0.062 if payed back within 6 days...

I would need 6 LTC as collateral, i would need a signed message that you accept the fact that i hold the collateral on an exchange (if it gets hacked, it's up to you), i also need a signed message verifying that if the price of LTC suddenly drops, you'll either transfer extra collateral to my exchange account, or you accept the fact that i'll sell your LTC for BTC to minimize the volatility risk...
Also, the transaction fees are up to you...

If you want to, you can also use an escrow to hold your LTC (same rule still applies: if the price suddenly drops, the escrow will have to get more LTC from you or sell the LTC in order to make sure the collateral stays valid)

And, no offense altcoinhosting, but ideally, you should always use escrow to hold the collateral.

Sorry, i didn't read the whole thread  :-[ I now see the OP only had this amount of LTC, which isn't sufficient as collateral for the full amount... I'll read the whole thread next time...

About the escrow: i did say i'm OK with it, i have no problem with an escrow holding the collateral. I just feel it's up to the one taking out the loan. If he trusts me, he doesn't need escrow to hold his collateral. If he doesn't trust me: by all means, use an escrow ;)

please get the collateral (4.2 ltc as you mentioned) to the escrow if you can.
again, once got informed i will send the loan.
