Title: interesting issue on blockchain.info
Post by: takagari on August 11, 2015, 06:07:45 PM
So my hot wallet for mt ATM is always being a bit wierd..

If I view the wallet
https://blockchain.info/address/1LCfc8z9CzMHa5Tu56akzsb2QYFeHKtDhH
I see one wallet balance
If I view unconfirmed transactions
https://blockchain.info/address/1LCfc8z9CzMHa5Tu56akzsb2QYFeHKtDhH?filter=7#
It shows a higher BTC balance, and shows a bitcoin transaction with hundreds of comfirmations under that page.
If I goto confirmed transactions it actually shows a negative balance.
https://blockchain.info/address/1LCfc8z9CzMHa5Tu56akzsb2QYFeHKtDhH?filter=5#

I've noticed a few times where a confirmed transaction has shown as unconfirmed.
So from what I can tell, looking at the confirmed page, my wallet is actually negative.

Not sure what's going on with this, but it's annoying as all hell tracking my balance and ensuring the machine is working properly. as it would seem that old unconfirmed transaction is not usable by my ATM.

2.85 BTC
862 confirmations and counting.

Any idea what's going on here?

Thank you

Edit:
I should note these are coming form an exchange account, so you can see multiple transactions posted to more than one place, they all appear unconfirmed.

Edit2: after a bit more poking it would seem they are paying a low fee. but why would a 5 day old transaction still not be confirmed in the wallet as usable?

I think they might be calculating everything on the fly so when you filter it, those balance calculations are based off of the data that it is showing, which may be why the balances are weird.

As for that one transaction which is included in the unconfirmed filter, I have no idea.

It might be because you are using unconfirmed funds for other transactions. If the first transaction isn't confirmed, all the following ones will have to wait to be spendable funds. Those subsequent transactions can appear as confirmed even though the initial funds possibly weren't spendable.

I haven't look throughout all your transactions, this may or may not be the case.

Is it possible.for them to send me unconfirmed btc? I'm not great at blockchain back logging. I guess I need to play around.
But they are not usable. And it's pretty annoying

It may help to cross verify your addresses on other block explorers
You can try copy/paste and search your addresses here (https://blockonomics.co)

Blockchain.info is having a lot of oddities in recent months, as their API gets spammed with calls and requests.

Might just be a bug on the website though.
