I was talking to idol just minute ago (on a Slack), and he told me that his account was hacked/stolen.

He has a little problem with finding a way to prove that he is the real owner as he hasn't post any BTC address.
Once he PMed an alt addy to some coin dev and that's it.

But anyway, I told him to contact Theymos about this case as only he can help.


I just want to warn all of you to not deal with "idol" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=250775   at the moment.

The person which is using idol account might be a hacker or a thief so be careful as you might be blinded by his trust feedbacks.

If he hasn't published any BTC address at all (it seems he hasn't from my quick check) then he should at least sign a message with an altcoin address. I don't know if theymos will accept that to recover the account but at least a trusted member can verify it and get their current negative trust (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=250775) confirmed or removed. For example he posted an address here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=907490.msg10138552#msg10138552).

Hi I'm the Graffiti dev, I've just found a PM from idolacchacked telling me about the hack.
I can confirm that that address was sent to me by Idol.

I think that would only be a valid thing to use when the pm could still be seen in his account. Something that could provide a real proof.

I guess staff has to check this. Maybe send badbear a pm.

If Graffiti still has a copy of the PM in his inbox/outbox, then the PM will still be in the site's database, and the staff should be able to confirm the validity of that screenshot. The other thing that could be done to verify the message is have a trusted party (preferably someone who provides escrow here with a good trust track record) log into Grafitti's account, and see the message for themselves.

Do not spam them with private messages. It'll just annoy them and getting your account back will be harder.

Did someone check the posting behaviour of that account? Did it change at some point? And if so, when?

i was logged on when i got kicked off and had to log on again only to find out my PW/Email  changed

that was on aug 12th since that time no one has logged on to the account

I Can confirm that idolacchacked send me the Proof (a screenshot of his Vaultoro + Bittrex Account with the API Key used for running C.A.T.) that he's the same person.

after done don't send many PMs to admin, he will recover and reset the email of the account to the email you sent in PM

It's strange that you did not get any reaction at all. I would await that it is not so hard to answer a pm with a oneliner, like "You need to wait a month to see if not another user claims it is his account." or so.

Translation:

I got caught or am about to get caught and/or implicated in a scamming attempt and I need deniability so I will make unfounded claims of hacking.


That's why you aren't getting any response.

all the negative trust was put on by people after i told them about the loosing access to my account

to deter any hacker from selling my account

If he can proof the ownership of the altcoin address he sent to staff one day then it should proove that he is the original owner.

Or do you say there is more to it?

Idol in cryptocommunity slack Is the real idol trying to get his account back. I run the community and he's been there since the beginning.

I talk to him all the time in Slack nothing has changed about that account.

Has he really not managed to get his BCT account back yet though? So slow *-_- he should have it by now it's his and he can prove it.

It's always a shame when a member gets their account stolen with the inability to "prove" that they're the owner.
Hope he gets his account back and thanks for the warning.

It's strange. Is your prove considered not safe enough? Otherwise i don't know what could the delay mean.

Strange indeed but perhaps our admins have a reason for  that.

Can any admin or a moderator tell us something more about this case?

This is strange. Are no accounts given back at the moment at all or is something special with this account?

I think it would be nice to hear something from badbear or so about it. I mean no info brings uncertainty in the forum since everyone would need to ask himself what would be if his account would be hacked. Would he get it back then when he can prove it?

Sorry to hear that your account got hacked, we should really get a support team in place for stuff like this.

It has been more than half a year since this thread was created, and it's a surprise that your account is still not recovered by theymos. You are now a Full Member, and I guess you will get your account back after you became a Legendary. LOL, no offense. Did you consistently send PMs to theymos?

I feel that if I constantly pm him he will ignore me more..so i just do it once a month now :) ..I'm sr btw lol
