around april, the same date of my registration, the first thing that i searched about, was mining, you can clearly see it by my initial post history, my first coin come late in May i don't remember the exact date, because it was a sum of many small 0.02-0.03 transactions

well, i know bitcoin is have less than 4 month..
and that is from my sister when i go home from my university...
so, with her explain and i read more too.. with my experience, i have banned,
and havent payment, and still understand, and want to give up..
but,, i say with myself i should do it. and i make it until now..
still ummina make it from 4 may 2015, may be i will make more account..

My Bitcoin's birthday was somewhat in November 2013.The date I don't remember as it has been long time since then.Now will be second anniversary this year.

I cant remember the exact date, its around August 2014. I bought bitcoin at that time because I thought it would be easier to do gambling with bitcoin instead of fiat ;D

I heard about Bitcoin in December of 2013, after a huge spike when all of the news were about it. I started reading this forum and lurking, but I've registered about 6 months later.

Bitcoin was to expensive for me in December so I have bought only 0.3 and I invested in alts and started trading alts. At that time, you could have traded any alt, there were huge swings and great volatility. I think I have traded my first bitcoin in February.

No point in making that list as you will have more than enough names to put on that list. I got into bitcoin back in September 2013 when a friend gifted me some bitcoin on my birthday .

I heard and started using Bitcoin in December 2014 exact few days before creating my account on this forum.I bought Bitcoin to invest in some other digital currency with it that time.

I received 5 BTC from Gavin's faucet.  I generated my first block the following day.

First introduced to it, by a friend in about 2012, and I thought he was crazy.  :o

Mine was the 7th of September 2013 - It was a Saturday and I was watching Youtube video's out of boredom on the internet. I saw some young guy explaining Bitcoin mining and bragging how much money he was earning. Google followed and I started to research this wonderful and disruptive technology. I bought some Bitcoins that same day.

It was only about a year after that, when I stumbled onto this forum, and I joined.  ;D

I don't remember exactly when I first time heard about BTC, probably in 2012 or beginning of 2013 but I was skeptic in the beginning and didn't join.
When I heard more news about it, specially when my friend told me how much money he earned in BTC I finally become serious and joined in April or May 2014.
Now, I'm sorry I was not involved much earlier :)

Very easy to find my first date when I buy my first bitcoins. It is registered. I bought those at virwox (according to the advice of one my friend) and was 13 April 2013. Were only 2 bitcoin and the price was about 31 us dollar. So stupid!!! Must bought 100 (if I had the money).

Great!! 5 BTC from a Faucet?  I have bad luck for not finding BTC at that time.

Yeah, it was 5 BTC at the time, protected only by a simple captcha (no e-mail required).  Check it out here (https://web.archive.org/web/20100703032414/http://freebitcoins.appspot.com/).

However, remember that bitcoins were worth much less back then.  The rate at bitcoinmarket.com (Mt.Gox didn't yet exist) was 0.012 USD/BTC, and this was an all time high! (up from about 0.006 USD/BTC at the beginning of the month).  One could only trade at this site in multiples of 100 BTC and I bought this minimal quantity later that day using PayPal (1.35 USD in total I think).  Trades of 10000 BTC were commonplace (I remember at least one 10000 BTC sell order I could have so easily met but decided not to :-\).

Bitcoin's difficulty was only about 24.  It was not long before it jumped up to 45 but even at this level, and with just 200 khps (0.0002 GH/s), I found my own block on the 13th (50 BTC) and another on the 15th (50.01 BTC).

I honestly can't even remember when I bought my first coin. It's long gone now any way and I can't remember what address I used.

Yeah, but those 50 BTC were only worth a couple of dollars when I parted with them.  I remember giving 150 BTC to my friend to get him started and 200 BTC to torservers.net later in the year.  My friend sold all of his bitcoins the following year when I parted with most of mine and he was pleased with the surprising gains.

By the way, are the dates in your first post meant to be dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy?  Just to clarify: my Bitcoin Birthday is July 12th, not December 7th.

Ha, most wise.  My spare CPU cycles were dedicated to Folding@Home when I first discovered Bitcoin but I decided to split my limited resources rather than switch over.

Do you remember your total khps? (before the significant hashrate-boosting client upgrade later in the year).

Around 8/2010 I solo mined two 50 BTC blocks on a Dell 2950 server but I never saved the wallet.

One of my current wallets goes back to 4/23/2011 where the first transaction was a payment from Deepbit. This is my official born again date that I can prove.

I've known Bitcoin since 2011. Unfortunately, in my first approach I thought it was another big ponzi scheme...
Later in the end of 2012 I got some time to read about bitcoin and got to read Nakamoto's paper... and That's where all begun...
That's when I finally understood what bitcoin was all about and it certainly wasn't no ponzi but rather a technology that had the potential to disrupt the current financial system. Since then, I have been completely in love; I have been living intimately with bitcoin... and I might say... I wish I could have known her before...

i've known bitcoin,it was september 2012 i was created an wallet on blockchain and i started faucet to get my first bitcoin and then i was loosing my identifier because i dont understand using the wallet,yeah september 2012 i was there :)

I first started earning bitcoins in October 2014 from faucets. They did not pay a lot, but they were a good way to quicky earn a few bitcoins. I won't say it's the best way to earn coins but it is good for beginners.

sadly mine was the call of duty modern warfare 2 era (2009?)..... I would let the pc mine while I was at work and tried playing COD when I got home and the pc couldn't take it. Winter came around and I was too bored so I turned the program off to play (at the time they were pretty much worthless, not much to do with them either) and the hard drive has been reformatted many times since then. OCT 2013 is when I got back into it.

I was estatic I was getting 2.0 mhs per machine before the update.

After the update I was getting around 4.8 or so per machine.



I once formatted accidentally over 12,000 BTC.

Artforz gave me 10,000 of that early on.

Keep in mind, BTC had essentially no value and no real place to "sell" them back in the early day.

No body was mining it and getting more if I wanted more was fairly easy.

That's why I laugh when people claim Satoshi instamined LOL

There was zero motivation at that point.

It is a little bit confusing.... I received my first Bitcoins (a few mBTCs) on August 19, 2012. It was my friend's birthday and he was giving away Bitcoins for free to everyone who is in his FB friend's list. Stored my first Bitcoins in an instawallet. But lost them when instawallet closed down.

That said, the first time I purchased Bitcoin was in 11 February 2013. Purchased BTC10 on that date.

March 8th 2015 was the day I bought my first bitcoins.

First time i invested in bitcoin when it was it's price around $70 in May 2013 from donkeymails a ptc site, that site was offering to invest in bitcoin and get huge profit so i saw major raise in price i came to this world in November and got addicted to this innovation, so my first bitcoin came in late May 2013 not remembered the exact date.

well its very hard to tell when I 1st bought a bitcoin I just remembered that it was in February of 2010 but I don't remember the date maybe it is around 20-25th ..but its a good question ;)

That is impossible because the first coins were mined January 3rd, 2009.

I define a "bitcoin birthday" as "the date when you first discovered bitcoins" because discovering bitcoins starts it all for a user. I happened to stumble upon a bitcoin faucet back in the first quarter of 2010 (not sure if March or May, it is a summer vacation here) that gives 10-20 bitcoins per 6 hours (that is afaik). I was mindfucked for a moment there because I don't know what is bitcoin and what the heck does it do, so I searched it on google and the first page I see was directed to bitcoin.org. Read a few lines and then decided that it is nothing more than a scam and I don't understand it. A few years after, Nov. 2013, ATH happened. My interest on bitcoin was restored and then I used faucets as a start only to find out that they are not giving that much anymore.

So it is March or May 2010, the first time I discovered bitcoins or Nov. 2013, the day I decided to use bitcoins. But I got my first big bitcoins on Sept. 2014 from PrimeDice signature campaign.

11th septemper 2012 on a website similar to localbitcoins. I think i wanted to check it out after hearing about someone earning money with his computer. After asking about it i decided that buying is better than mining. :D It seems to be a rule of thumb that is correct most of the time.

I didn't remember the exact date  but when i purchased my first BTCitcoin July 2013 i think middle of the month maybe 14th July but seems like that and later i entered into this great world.

I think it is 11/11/2014, first bitcoins earned through faucets came into my wallet.

That's close to my bitcoin birthday! IIRC that was the time when the current was on its high and we saw swings from $600 to 1200$! There were many many of us who jumped into the boat at that time.

My bitcoin birthday was February 2014 i think. I forgot the exact date what i only remember is the month.

I was entered to bitcoin when it was on it's peak price and i got my first coin on 24th November 2013 and that is memorial day for me, i remember this previous day of my life.

My Bitcoin birthday around December 2014, I don't remember I dont remember about the exact date it has been long time since then.

I'm two years old.  ;D

I am going to be a year into Bitcoin this month, October 10th. I may not have earned a whole lot this year but everyone has to start somewhere. I figure more more hard work and presistence, I will end up making more money as a sig campaigner and a computer programmer. I paid for a CakePHP course in New York and the education pays for itself. I hope I make a decent steady income in the new year.

I see the earlier date here is 2013, but i saw people using it at 2009.

I have start to mine bitcoin around December/2013, but i'm not long to mining, because i don't have a mining hardware. I used my PC to mining bitcoin.
