Turns out the Ice Bucket Challenge that was on when Hal Finney was struggling with ALS led to a bit of a breakthrough.  In a few years, there may be a cure.

It's already too late for Hal, and it's likely to happen too late for the current generation of ALS sufferers, but there's hope on the horizon.

Did you forget that Hal's frozen like a Popsicle? He'll be back, probably now sooner than later according to recent news.

At some point there may be a Hal Finney version 2.0 walking around.

I have no faith that version 2.0 will remember any of the secrets shared between version 1.0 and myself. I suspect that the process, if it works at all, will be a lot more projection and reconstruction rather than restoration and preservation.

Are people still doing that? I remember when I was a kid a few people claimed they where prepared to do that but never hear any place that offers the service.
