When I try to reindex Bitcoin Core it takes at least 3 days. How can I reduce this time?

Lots of RAM and solid-state drive instead of magnetic platters.

I have 4 Gb RAM and 120 Gb Samsung SSD but it's still too long to reindex. Is it only me or anybody else having same problem?

I haven't re-indexed in many months, but I'm surprised to hear that it takes 3 days if you have SSD and 4GB RAM

hi kevindurant.
if you want really speed up the blockchain reindex you need a raid0 setup with ssd.
i think this is the bottle neck...
this upgrade come before RAM and CPU...

Hi, my setup is raid0 SSD already. I think it's about my old-ass CPU (core 2 duo). Yesterday night electricity went off again so I had to reindex it again. Still 2 years 14 weeks left after 2 hours of reindexing. That's very disturbing.

If you find yourself in a situation where you are needing to re-index frequently, you might want to consider shutting down Bitcoin Core, creating a backup of data files, and then starting it back up again on a regular basis. This way, the next time a re-index is triggered, you can just recover your backup instead.

I also have Bitcoin Core in my laptop. From what I understand if I copy blockchain data from my laptop to my pc I don't need reindexing. Am I right?
Thanks for your help DannyHamilton.

Yes, you should be able to simply copy it from another machine.
