Title: Do you like polls/surveys? are they actually useful?
Post by: squall1066 on August 25, 2015, 03:14:46 PM
As topic, what are your thoughts?

I ask as people claim a Fad or "what's in" is based on polls/surveys, but personally polls are only created in the market they want a positive response for, or is that too conspiracy theory? you view please.

this also included "our survey said" results

Yes, I do.
I think polls/surevey is the fatest way to get data if we have limited time.
Additionally, we don't need to waste time when we draw data conclusion of the polls.

I am with the majority of people and chose the second option. The fact is the surveys are useful but the surveyer should take care of the participants of the survey.

Easier to vote than make a well reasoned argument in support of a topic.  ;)

I assume that you're not talking about this forum in particular, but are talking about polls/surveys in general? A poll on this forum should never be trusted due to the insane amount of sockpupets. As far as polls on the internet are concerned, depending where the poll is taking place it is probably more accurate than one would be in this forum. However, they are not useful due to the easiness of manipulation.

I think they are usefull to count the majority answers to a question (majority is not always right). In fact, how it was couple of weeks ago, with the "Core - XT" polls, but those were useless 'cause they were many, if there is a SINGLE poll (on a subject) it will be more accurate. Actually, in democratic countries it is made a poll to chose the president, so... we're doing the same here

No problem with surveys.

Just make good use of them and keep in mind that multiaccounting is allowed and some people have more than 100 accounts

I don't like them and I don't believe on them neither. I think most surveys/polls were just randomly answered and not taken seriously by people (including me ;D) and some of them were faked just for publicity. Basically surveys and polls for me is BS ;D
