Hi Folks,

I run DopeCoin (http://www.dopecoin.com) and wanted to ask what can one do to make his or her coin better and get a more involved community around a coin.  Seems we've been static for awhile, although we've had a pretty good community on BTCtalk ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=467641.6260 ).  Any ideas on how to re-grow a community ?

More advertising I suppose , you have to offer something that other people or other coins dosen't offer . For example you could do giveaways  for DopeCoin or do like HYPER DO , they offer HYPER for people who play on their servers for few games (CS:GO , Rust , etc ... ) . Simply give people a reason to explore your coin .

Thanks OmegaStarScream for that advise. I agree advertising is key.  I've done giveaways in the past maybe I should bring them back true.  Ya, games is a good way to do it. We used to have poker and texas style hold'em so you are right about that. Thanks for the response.

You should more attractive on social media, like twitter for example, you can held a some twitter campaign it will attract more people but you need to filter to who want to join a campaign, choose a people who have a lot followers related bitcoin and you service, and filter their account, it's means for avoid a people who use a bot for their followers.

And held some features which can makes your community more fun, for example people will be happy if there are have some giveaway, so held it.

- Distribute useful activity of the coin (light android of-wallet for coins. Translate threads different languages on bitcointalk)
- Add to coinpeyments and promote among coin dealers of cannabis
- Distribute a small amount of coins to consumers of cannabis for free
- Add masternodes
- Add darkmarket in wallet

Thanks for this advice. We have 7,000 + followers on your twitter:  twitter.com/dopecoins    and FB also but that is a good idea.  I was thinking target Bitcoin users yes.   Features are important I agree.

There's so many coins now, its hard to get out there. Do giveaways, try to put the name out there as much as possible.

The translate of different languages is a good idea.  Android would be good. We'll be doing coinami.com shortly.


We are on cointopay.com at the moment. We are also going to open up our own DOPE branded version of cointopay.com so we can onboard cannabis merchants.

Funny you should mention that we are the secure encrypted messaging and have thought of doing this. Let shops set-up inside the wallet. Seems like giveaways is the most popular thing to do.  Thing is with giveaways people just take and leave has to be a better way lol

The most important thing is the active dev team and to have some ongoing projects to enhance the features. Advertising and marketing is the key, which will spread the coins and get awareness.

If you have more and more sites, which use your coin, then your community will be better. But you can also use different way - advertise it in click per pay sites and give free coins with refferal links up to five level deep  ;D
