Title: Will Windows XP support 3 gpus?
Post by: michaelmclees on June 03, 2011, 03:32:40 PM
I've heard conflicting things.  Some say yes, others say no.

I can get 2 to run, but the third seems to be completely invisible to Windows XP.

I'm running 2 5850's and a 5870.  I can only get Windows to see 2 at a time.  I have my monitor on 1 and dummy plugs in the others.

It works for me... Im running 4x Sapphire 5850 xtremes. Only thing I can think of is that you havent extended the displays on the other card, so it's still technically disabled. Go in to the display properties and add a display to the side, that's what it took for me to get it to work.

I can't extend the display because Windows doesn't even seem to know it's there.  With my two cards, I have 4 "HD 5800's" or something like that when I right click on CCC.  That's where I can extend the display on the second card.  But with three cards, there should be 6, so I'd have my primary display on #1, extend #3, and extend #5.  That way all three cards are turned on.

It's like it's not plugged in.  But I know it is because the fan on it is spinning.
