Title: How much cost "unique known things" ? Post by: flynn on October 07, 2012, 03:08:42 PM I was wondering how much could cost unique things, trying obviously to get a scale to guess up to where could bitcoins go.
Unique things are common, and worth nothing : draw something on a piece a paper, and since you are not known, it worth nothing. But unique things -because their author is dead- made by very famous people, that's another story. Picasso has painted about 8,000 paintings. One was sold lately for over 100 M$ by Sotheby. Of course not all of these are worth this price, but my wild guess is that the 8,000 paintings could be worth 20 B$ ? Of course bitcoins don't have the save aesthetic value than Picassos's but on another hand it's difficult to buy bread with a Picasso. If BTC get to be as known as Picasso's, would they worth 20B$/21M.BTC ~ 1000$/BTC ? Have any other ideas of global value of unique known things ? Title: Re: How much cost "unique known things" ? When relased it was smashing failure and now since the 90s it's the most important cult item for a whole industry. I don't see that trend ending anytime soon. You can earn some buck if you snatch a perfect one around 1000 during the summer and sell it for 1.5x that 3 months later. It's a currency in it's own way, you can always be certain you can trade it for a piece of decent gear. Title: Re: How much cost "unique known things" ?
