Hollywood Agency Shopping Rights to Mt Gox Movie

I just don't see this happening, but I'd watch that.

I remember seeing someone mentioning a movie about Mt Gox. I'm not surprise to see someone is actually making it. Well, it look like a good movie to watch for Bitcoiners. :).

The premise sounds terribly uninteresting. But I guess any exposure is good exposure....right? :-X

Do you guys really think that MtGox isn't coming back someday?

How nerdy do you have to be to watch a movie about Mt Gox? Did you just get really pissed off when he ran away with everyone's coins?

The question is... Who would play Karpeles?!

My money is on Jonah Hill, maybe the kid who played Harry potter if they could get him to gain some weight.

Meh, I'm much more interested to know what actually happened than to see Mark in prison. I think there is quite a lot more to this story than we know about.

I think it may not happen!! If MtGox come back, many investors want to get their money back!!!

Well, there was several films made about Wall Street and how they bailed out.
Why not for Bitcoin too.
It's not really the greatest promotion, but hey, what can we do?

Maybe a movie on Mt Gox (and btc linked too) can host the price of bitcoin in the various market !

If you think of it in the sense that it can't be any worse than Dragonball Evolution then yes
If not then we might end up with a turd.
(Unless they made it like the Wolf of Wall Street then that might be interesting to see)

Yeah its good exposure i guess but i agree when they make films like this its not my cup of tea.  Like that NWA real life film thats just come out, apparently it is "good".... why watch it though when you know the story.

Well the first thing that came to my mind is I hop this never makes to the movie screens and that public never sees this, but then after some thinking, yes, I guess that there is no bad press. This might be actually a good thing that many people find out about Bitcoin.

It would also depend what message at the end this movie sends about Bitcoin, if it sends a message, Bitcoin is a great technological achievement even though Mt. Gox has happened, then great. On the other side if sends a message, people beware of Bitcoin, then it wouldn't be so good! :)

Yeah I don't get it neither. Have we ever seen a movie about Madoff or Lehman brothers? No.

I vote homer simpson as karpeles.  He's the only one I can think of that would do him justice.
