Title: mine litecoins
Post by: vengeful on September 06, 2015, 09:37:52 AM
I am trying to mine some altcoins (mainly bytecoins, fantomcoins etc.)... I am using minergate software for mining via cpu... So I would like to ask if there's a way to mine litecoins using minergate software gui... any help???

I wouldn't touch bytecoin if they were giving it out for free.
Just get CCminer or xptminer, much more simple.
Riecoin is pretty much the only coin that CPU mining is worth it.
Keep away from the shady coins.

Its not worth it.
If you mine litecoin on cpu, it will take forever to earn one.

Just keep mining the most profitable coin, send it to an exchange and exchange it to litecoin if that's the coin you
want to invest in.

if the GUI was extremely easy to use, you wouldn't ask that question...

really???? that's the best you could come up with... i meant that their miner is easy to use yet it shows different cryptocurrencies but not litecoin...

Besides I asked for helpful opinions... YOUR'S wasn't one...

I know... but how???

there are no option for mining litecoins... though you could do it via joining the pool... but I don't know the pool address... ???

actually you wouldn't ask all those questions if you weren't using blindly a GUI  ;D
go to a "real" command line miner everything will become clear
(sorry for not being more helpful  ;D I don't use one, I just use a command line miner like 95% (probably) of the people around... and not mentionning that would probably decrease as well the risk of running (for) a botnet

edit: a more helpful answer is to contact the dev who wrote it... (and ask for your coin to be added if it isn't in it...)
I would assume, that you could run on any scrypt coin using the pool address of your choice... since the "GUI" can't tell if it is litecoin or another scrypt coin.

Why would you say BCN is a shady coin? I have been trading and CPU mining BCN and it already made me some nice profits. Besides, I really do believe that BCN will eventually replace XMR monero.

Why would you say BCN is a shady coin?
because they lied over the creation date of the coin so they can save a huge premine for them  ;D
(so is that shady ?  I guess it is up to you to decide ;D)

if you compare, electric cost , hardware rig
better we buy Litecoin and hold it :)

litecoin price is lower than mining cost

Ok, so you got a point. but like that there are a lot of projects that have done exactly the same.
The truth is, you can mine them easily and by trading them you can get some profits.
