Just reported this one as well

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1172247.0 Posted in all forums it seems.

One difference here though, I see this is a Sr Member. Was this account perhaps hacked/bought as I'm sure a Sr Member should know better.

I've already reported in Staff Forum but we have only 2 active Global Moderators and BadBear to handle these.

He is not stopping, checked his account and hasn't changed the password last 30days so probably has been hacked.

This guy is going everywhere.  Does it help if we report him more and more or does that just clog up the system?

At least this brings some comedy to the issue...

Is it worth continuing to report these posts, or is once enough?

I remember seeing a thread where someone asked the same question (I'm searching for it now). and the answer is yes, once is enough as long as it is just one user spamming non stop all over the place. though there's nothing wrong with reporting all of them.

One report is enough. We can't do anything until a Global Moderator or Admin come up to forum.

Thanks for the heads up. I usually report all the posts just like I did now.

I see Cyrus is on it as we speak, deleting threads. Looks like he stopped meanwhile,

You could do an automated report system like in some forums.

Can you elaborate? The report system is already good; I can't see how it would be improved. If you're saying that if a post was reported several times it would be automatically deleted, then obviously that could be easily taken advantage of.

Everything has been done, i think the user has been banned and seems that all of his posts are deleted now.

Yes, these are all hacked accounts.

I see Cyrus is on it as we speak, deleting threads. Looks like he stopped meanwhile,
Handled almost 100 reports before he stopped(left a couple of redirection topics to the trashcan to let users know I'm on it and that we've received eenough reports). He's banned now.

Indeed, one report/post is enough. But you can't be sure if anyone else reported it already. Epochtalk(the new forum software) will have an improved reporting system in which reports on the same post are grouped together and duplicate reports(by same or different users) will be easier to spot and handle. I think a similar system is what LordCoder was implying.

That guy EmpoEX has been hacked or atleast pretends to be a lot the last couple of months. Do you know if he got his account back after the first time? Good one bringing it to mods attention OP

His last post is on Sep 4th, so most likely he's not banned now. Other than that, can't recall any details.

He must have really bad computer security because I'm 99% sure, he has been hacked and spreading that malware at least once in the last 5 weeks. Happen once unlucky, happen twice and somethings not right.

I think it should be limited to just one report though, seems like mods ignore the other reports, I reported like 20 of them and my Correctky reported posts dropped from 100% to 75% or something.

Another (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=552925) suspicious user, this time with a different MO.

it's just the usual newbies posting their crap in the wrong section. a mod will nuke it quick.

kinda OT, but I noticed that there's been a LOT of newbies lately. is it just me, or..?

Thanks, just doing what I can, I'm very frequently around here so not an issue reporting these things ASAP

It's already been nuked apparently. Not sure if he was spreading malware too.

There doesn't seem to be more newbies lately (or I simply learned to disregard them, or only see the "wrong" sections :D)

Good job unamis76 for reporting these kind of people, seems this account's posts have been cleaned. Mods are fast.

The forum must find the way to stop this kind of scam spam. We don't want to see the cool guys here being scammed.  :-\

I agree; however, there will be a 2FA option in the new forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1172822.msg12350056#msg12350056) so at least that will stop from users' accounts from being hacked (if they use 2FA). This will force the spammers to create a new account, which will have the 6 minute posting limit and thus give the mods more time to delete the threads and nuke them. Of course, they might buy an account and spam with that, but I can't really see any solution for that.

The "cool guys" will mostly decide that its too good to be true and move on to another thread. Its mostly newbies and people who mostly do not know money doesn't come for free who get scammed by these type of "scam" sites.
