Title: Scammer tag question
Post by: rjbtc on October 09, 2012, 03:53:59 PM
Why is it that when someone gets a scammer tag they are still considered a "Hero Member"?

I would think that being a scammer would/should automatically remove any references to you being a "hero", regardless of what it actually means (post count, dontations etc.. )

Indeed - I have started to wonder if all members of this forum will eventually end up labelled as scammers.

:D

Limitations of the forum software. It would have to be manually-changed. Not that it is that much work, but the first group listed under your name seems to be based on post count no matter what.

That's why I propose to rename "Hero" to "Legendary".

No! Legendary Scammer sounds like a title one might want to have.

Damn, you saw through my trick to have the forum talk about users having "Legendary Members".

What if it were Mega- ?
Megamember sounds awesome, and Megascammer sounds quite bad.

Maybe you should change 'Scammer' to 'Weenie'.
Nobody wants to be a Megaweenie.

Instead of X's there could be pictures of cocktail weenies, you get more based on the size of your scam.

"You can't go wrong with cocktail weenies! They taste as good as they look, and they come with this delicious red sauce. It looks like ketchup. It tastes like ketchup. But brother, it ain't ketchup!" - Homer Simpson

To my knowledge, smf creates those titles on the fly based on post count (based on config settings) but does not store and update them in the database.  It would require a "core hack" (directly modifying php from core of smf) to be able to alter the title generation.  Although I think it would be cool to simply replace the word member with scammer, it would make future software updates more difficult to manage.
