Look like we got a scammer prowling these forums without anyone knowing and a very known scammer at that. I'll start of with this, TradeFortress who ran inputs.io and stole millions of dollars is Wardrick on this forum, using one of his many alts.

Did you read the thread? the creator later admitted that he stole the gift cards and tried to scam me, thats why he was given negative trust by a number of users.

I think it would have been strange for the "real" TF to have posted this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=156784.0) scam accusation when both of their reputations were good if they were the same person

If you are right about wardrick being a part of that group then I can say with certainty that he is not TF. That group is in a college in High Point, NC, and TF is a kid in Australia (IIRC, he is no older then 18 currently)

The only proof you have that I am James is that he allegedly owned this account once and the only proof you have I am TF is that I used his nick on two sites. Note that Tradefortress is actually a marketplace from a game that I used to trade on. I will not confirm or deny if I am James but I will confirm I am not TF.

None of those proofs are really reliable. It's relatively easy to edit a webpage (Inspect element), so that proof is out of the window. Both puush links are broken so that's not worth anything.

That is what Blazr says. Blazr had actually said that TF is actually somewhere in the range of 16 to 18 years old now, which would put him at potentially be a 14 year old who had duped people in the bitcoin world out of ~$4 million.

Listen quickseller, whois info is as far fetched as one could be, whois info can be filled in with whatever details you want, don't be so gullible

Yes he is currently under 18! I do not know exactly what age he is but he is still in school and under the age of 18. I believe he is 17 now. If you want said proof feel free to PM me any time.

The dox in that thread you posted are fake. I do know TF's real name and many previous + current addresses, his first name begins with the letter D. but I will not provide his dox to anyone other than law enforcement or potentially a court or lawyer if I am contacted by them and I feel that is necessary.

I really wanted to post his dox but was advised by someone who lost big on inputs and wants recourse that posting his dox could greatly damage legal cases brought against him as for example if he was harrased by an anonymous stranger he could bring a harrassment case against the person suing him, even if he has zero evidence it was the right person and then drag it out to drain the persons legal funds. Thats just one example.

That is possible considering that it was not active since the forum was hacked.

If wardrick is in fact hacked, then there is a good possibility that TF is in fact behind this account, as I am fairly confident that TF was the one who was behind the hacking, although I do not have evidence, nor do I have the technical ability to find evidence. If this is true, then it would certainly make for a very comical turn of events, and would be a great twist for one of my last days here....at least for a while

I have no idea, in fact I thought it was wardrick who told me about that but now I remember it was someone else. Yes a few people went out and got lawyers, private investigators and stuff but all those guys really want to do is just take your money right, so nobody had any success the lawyers just took a bunch more money off of victims. At the time nobody knew for sure who TF was and it took fucking ages to figure it out for sure. It took me over a year before I was sure who he was, and even then I held off telling people because I was afraid I was wrong because it's easy to make mistakes.

One problem in catching him was that TF started using the internet at a really young age so he actually used fake ages and names online since day one. He also has a credit card in the name of "Gladys Portales" IIRC (TF's other nickname is glados, a reference to the game Portal) no idea how he got that.

There is no doubt about his identity now. He attended a bitcoin conference before and started tweeting from his twitter account while sitting in the audience, he even helpfully posted online that he would be there befor hand so that others could keep an eye out for him. It was "the bitcoin address" by Andreas antonop and it was held in melbourne, sponsored by coinjar I think. There is a youtube video where you can see his tweets showing up, I'll try find it now. TF or maybe a family member of his also likely has some very minimal involvement with https://coinjar.io . My current theory is he has invested some of the inputs money with them.

And TF didn't run inputs on his own. He had help from a much older family member. And I think inputs really did get hacked via an API exploit, but not for 4100 BTC. I think he lost so much money he decied he had to run away with the rest. He later setup hashie.co with another scammer here and it definitely got hacked for a small amount of BTC and he definitely ran away with the remaining BTC, even admitting it to me on this forum.

I haven't spotted TF on the forum in a long time now so its possible he's either laying low or a case or something is against him. It's generally a bad idea to post about legal issues on the internet so we won't hear about any legal cases until they are almost resolved. I could care less about him anymore, he'll eventually get caught.

Sorry for the offtopic, but this thread is kinda about TF I guess.

No need to apologise Blazr, I find it really interesting reading all the stories about major scams. The hufflepuff one was fascinating too, obviously awful for the people who get scammed but it's interesting to read about.

interesting, I peeked at your profile earlier today and it said your account was last active sometime in July, but you happened to come across this thread just today, at the perfect time. from that, I'd say there's an extremely high chance you are browsing the forums on an alt account at the very least, though it's unlikely the account is wardrick.

I guess people here just aren't as sharp as they used to be. Fucking hell. Have you actually been convinced that I am TF because we both use he same nick which is the name of a popular marketplace from team fortress 2?

it was June 5, actually. I'm not surprised that TF posted here. after all, blazr did confirm that he know TF's identity.

but! just posting here to tell people that he's not wardick really does seem stupid. he should've known that his words isn't going to prove anything.

Wardrick needs some negative trust, it's clear to see TF is behind the Wardrick account or he wouldn't have signed in just to post 3 words

TF has always been here, running some scam or another. Do you really think he just scammed and never came back, when there's so many gullible and greedy people here?

He did scam an absolute ton of bitcoin. Enough to retire (according to his trust ratings) at his young age; if he's smart, then he'd stay clean and live life well.

I do feel sorry for his future family.
