Title: [2015-09-09] Ukraine Plans to Legalize Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology
Post by: tyz on September 09, 2015, 05:15:40 PM
While many Bitcoin enthusiasts feel that regulation can destroy the prospect of virtual currency, several countries around the world are approaching the delicate matter from a different angle.  Ukraine, for example, may be one of the first countries in the world to give Bitcoin a proper legal status, while the country’s National Bank wants to experiment with blockchain technology.

What makes Ukraine different in this regard is how all parties fully understand there is no way to control the technology in a centralised manner.  Whereas this conclusion seems to scare government officials around the world, Ukraine seems to embrace the idea of decentralized technology used be the general population.

I don't think all governments will see it like this. One can only hope that more governments will be as open towards bitcoin without trying to legislate and regulate it to death in order to try and exert control over it.

Which is why the Ukraine government is an exception, as they do understand how this "game" works.

Other countries...Well....We'll have to wait and see

The title of this article is misleading (they are not legalizing Bitcoin, but clarifying the legal status of Bitcoin) and the source is questionable ("Source: News Tip Via Email")

It's not misleading, it's open to interpretation. Unlike clickbait posted on other news sites, this title is technically speaking correct.

Not everyone wants to be disclosed as a source for this kind of information, which is something certain writers honor. Or some sites just don't use source material at all, which is also an option.
