So the charts are showing lots of short term divergence which coupled with a typical weekend drop will mean a stiff drop but how low can it go?[/glow]

225 qualifies as freefall? Pah.

What I mean is the drop will happen almost suddenly when it does. 235 to 225 in about 1 to 2 minutes flash style.

Fair enough. Well, I hope it gives whoever lots of fun. Let's hope there'll be proper excitement in either direction sometime soon.

The question is will it set off an after shock of panic selling sending it lower (possibly even sub 200) or will it rebound back. The chart shows a mighty storm brewing for the weekend. But how low can it really get?

I think we'll probably carry on going sideways over the weekend (give or take 5 USD either way).
I'll probably be wrong but I think we'll plod along between 230-250 for another week of two, I see no reason for a fairly significant move in either direction.

i don't consider falling from $239 to $225 a free fall. but we can expect a tiny drop again this or beginning next week. my target is around $220-$230.

I can actually see the Price going Down !, But don't expect that i gonna be less than 225 , i guess its is the same time as previous year when the prices were low like now.

Maybe it is he who is accumulating with the buy walls at finex?

i agree that the price will go down but not "free fall"!!
i say this because we are close to weekend and price always goes down at these times and there is another spam attack starting to happen which might affect the bitcoin price but none is so serious to create a free fall as OP puts it.

freefall would be to 125$, fall to 225$ is nothing.

Bitcoin is more stable from range $225 - $240 through out this year so that i think price will go up and will cross $250 in coming week and  that looks more realistic this time as price indication showing positive sign for this.

$290 to $310

price rose to $310 and hit a ceiling in july ONLY becasue there was a ton of hype regarding the greek debt "negotiations".  As soon as they ended, adn people realized that the greeks couldnt (becasue of bank closures) buy btc, and probably wouldnt even if they could, the run up died out, bottoming back at ~$200 last month.

I dont see ANY news coming that could recreate that any time soon, in fact this stress test looks like the movement will be further down, in the near term

You're not meant to see evidence of where the price is going, that is a secret. We will carry on riding the waves.

It has begun. The next major leg down should hit 225 as I predicted. If you took my good advice you potentially just made several thousand dollars this weekend. If not, maybe next time.

nice! i see price started drop and i have waiting price fall under $225 at least under $215 but i don't hope price bitcoin below $200.

I disagree with the Op's assessment. I think Chinese will keep the price going at around 1500 RMB, which basically means we will continue to go sideways at 235 for a while.

At the moment Bitcoin actual price range is around $220 - $240 during the whole year so if it would go up again to $240 or above to $250 from tomorrow when the next week will start, i don't think it go under $225 this time.

A touch under $230 now.

Seems like Bistamp is leading the way in this recent decline

Yes, seems to have quickly corrected back to $227range - with the Chinese exchanges still slightly higher BPI.

it was an expected drop. bitstamp reached a low of $223.99 while other exchanges didn't follow. even btc-e's low of the day is higher. let's see how strong the $220 level is. i think it will hold.

Indicators for upcoming weekend seem even more grim. We could be looking at 190-200.

you keep surprising me. well, i wouldn't mind buying sub $200 coins, but the chances of this to happen are very low. can't see it going below $220 at the moment.

Yeah i hope bitcoin not drop below $200 if that happened. Mmh i think we will see the price drop under $150.
