Title: Is it allowed?
Post by: The Bitman on September 10, 2015, 06:50:39 AM
Hi,

Is it allowed to sell information on a rigged soccer match via this forum?

Thanks in advance for answers

It depends on opinion mostly, as for me it is allowed, but you never know it with people who are on the default trust.

With the greatest of respect possible, I really don't care about the people on default trust and their opinions. I am asking as I am concerned about the rules of the forum itself and if they would allow this.

If you're asking for the rules, nope nothing like that is there. I could've missed something though, here are the rules, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0#post_rules .
Although getting a negative feedback from default trust will hamper your sales, if you ask me.

You should care, these people are influential and they define the rules.

Let's say you have information on a fixed match.
How do I know that the match is indeed rigged, or you are lying?

Most likely no. If you are selling "rigged" information, then the dissemination/receipt of such information is most likely going to be illegal in both your jurisdiction and the jurisdiction of the person you are selling to. If it is illegal in either jurisdiction then it is not allowed.

Thinking about it maybe this rule may apply in your case

17. Trading of goods that are illegal in the seller's or buyer's country is forbidden.
As quickseller as stated and moderators can:

23. When deciding if a user has broken the rules, the staff have the right to follow their interpretation of the rules.[e]

Let me rephrase. I don't care for a strangers' opinion on ethics, which is essentially what getting a negative trust rating from somebody would be. If that were to happen, so be it.

Let's say you have information on a fixed match.
How do I know that the match is indeed rigged, or you are lying?

You don't. But consider that I gain nothing from lying to you. You pay me (or a trusted escrow), I provide the pick, you win, and when I get the next tip-off I hope for your repeat business.

1) It's probably pretty much illegal anywhere to participate in any form of match rigging
2) You will get negative feedback for it
3) I very much doubt you have any information on rigged matches. Usually it's just scammers doing what scammers do and trying to scam the greedy

So I pay the agreed price for this information into an escrow account.
When that is confirmed as done, you give me the tip and I bet on it. If the tip wins, the escrow releases the purchase price of the tip to you; if the tip fails, then I get my money back from the escrow, but stand the staked money loss myself.
Is this the way it would work?

Are you trying to imply that there is no such thing as a guaranteed win when gambling? Are you sure about this?

I think you should double check your math

edit: It looks like you are right. I was unable to figure out any calculation in which 0.99 > 1.00

No, because it would not fail. It's solid information, guaranteed. This isn't a "tip". It's a fact of what will happen.

Yeah ok, you guaranteeing the future and QS implying that guaranteed wins exist is beside the point: what I'm asking you is, is that the mechanics of the proposed transaction?

Essentially that is the mechanics. But again, it's zero risk. The match is fixed.

PMSL. His tip is that Acharnaikos are going to beat Trikala 1963 who are already the strong favourites at 10/11 vs 5/2. Would have been a bit more impressed with some actual specifics but as always these fixed match sellers are just bs scammers or are getting their 'info' from bs scammers.

If it's zero risk then why you selling just bet yourself all in and you will be millionaire/billionaire soon.

There is no such thing as a guaranteed gambling that is 100 percent.  Maybe you get 1 or 2 from team, but them to risk their career for onetime payment... unlikely.  Also who team of soccer being in on it..... is not going to happen so not 100 percent again.

But this is illegal like many have said.  And if you happened to find a place it's legal and a legal way to do it, I think you will be blasted with negative trust.

I don't see how this type of deal could work anyway unless the buyer completely trusts you, even if escrow is used. What happens if you were wrong, misinformed or lying and the buyer loses his bet? Would you reimburse the buyer's losses?

As others have said, if it illegal for the two parties involved, then you cannot sell it here.

There are 100% bets...google matched betting, sports arbitrage, surebets, etc. These are few ways to bet without losing a cent. + Match fixing is real and rife in Asia. Its not always what it seems with sports betting.

But then the OP could just have been lucky. And yes fixing is illegal in parts of Europe.

This. There is no way some random guy on here has information about rigged football matches, certainly not involving teams in any major league. No doubt he'll try & sell this 'info'.

I'd advise everybody to keep well clear of this bull shit.

There should not be a issue with you doing this as long as you are straight up about what you are planning to do.
Shilling is common and interesting some of the comments against it come from people that sell their services in this forum.

Match fixing is common in Soccer and Tennis and I would read(not buy) any information personally. But I do know people will pay for information, only issue is proving ones self to get that following. Meaning most likely having to give out a few free plays.

If fake escrow is allowed,I do not think selling picks should be a issue.
