Title: Questions for audiophiles
Post by: lolwut on October 10, 2012, 05:11:28 PM
What are some awesome sounding lossless/flac songs, genre doesnt matter. I'm just looking for stuff to listen to all day.

Does playback software make a difference in audio quality? (Mac)

help a brother out, the music quality of xm is awful.

Look. Why don't we turn this into a multi million dollar (/BTC) business right away?

Cut the desperate looking for help and salvation in niches of the internet and offer the service ourselves.

QUESTION:
Would you pay for music (in BTC) if it were offered as a FLAC download? Would you if it paid the artists directly? Would you if the music was free to download and copy regardless?

There's some FLAC audio near where I am.

I used to handcraft my FLACs myself.  :)

EAC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exact_Audio_Copy), great tool, those were the days. Also runs in Wine.

That aside, didn't iTunes offer at least some artists optionally as AAC lossless too?

I have spent some time using Amarra with iTunes, some people say it is better:

check this thread out:

I think the most important part of the signal chain is your DAC...I noticed a huge difference when using an outboard DAC connected via the macbook's optical out (Cambridge Audio DACMagic).

post-rock like Mono (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2osI6AiuSI) (Japan). They record everything live, the sound is raw and natural, this does require high-fidelity losslessness, many codecs fuck this up.
