Come in and take a seat, at long last we get to meet.

I know that you are here for committing a crime, so let's you and me do some time.

I've got some things I'd like to say, I will see you change from day to day.

The thoughts you will have, the things you will feel, I will be here for your every meal.

You will feel some sadness and you will feel alone at night, you will say "I wish that I were home," make the best of the time you've got, and let's hope that it's not a lot.

One day we will part, yes, you and me, that is the day they set you free.

I'm sure you want to know my name, it hasn't changed, it's still the same. We are both together in this man made hell.

Glad to meet you, I'm your prison cell.

That image is really hard to make out lol. Took me a few moments to realize what it was. Has he actually gone to jail yet or is that just him in the back of a police car (or even photoshopped?)?

That's not a canopy bed in the background :(

Like Dajve, I'd like to know the factual updates on Karpeles status.

I think his cheeks are a little red there. is it just me?

His cheeks are going to be a little red - but not too red.  There aren't some many black guys in Japanese jail.  Just Japanese dudes with tiny peckers.  Hard anal in Japan just isn't the same as Ryker's Island.

Ah, male prison rape. The funny kind.

Watching a very fat French doughboy with a little Jap gangster jumping up and down in his ass would be funny.  I wonder whether they will post videos of that?

Yup, it's good that he's going to jail, but sadly that won't bring people that had money on mt.gox their funds back.
It would be much better if they found the funds he stole, let's face it, it was him that did it, not some imaginary hackers.

I wonder will we ever know the real truth? Is there a way that he would maybe confess for his jail time to get reduced or something like that. Of course, he would have to give all the poor people their money back.

Maybe also he stole the money but he hopes he will get sentenced to some little sentence so when he gets out of the jail, he will be rich and loaded. That's why I hope he gets as much as possible of the prison sentence. All those poor people that have lost their money!

yeah, the laws around fraud are archaic. steal hundreds of millions and get a few years (which you only do about 15% of) pay nothing back to those you robbed. this kind of sentencing is no deterrent. however, steal a slice of pizza... after getting caught stealing a slice of pizza 2x before... LIFE!

it really is a rich man's world, even if you stole all your riches.

we need some high-up judges and lawmakers to get fleeced a few times. then maybe these laws might change.

gogxmagog

He is in a Japanese justice & prison systems, which very likely have different rules re doing time.  I would not assume that he will there just a short-time, though of course I do not know.

I would be interested to learn when fraudster/bankster Obama Bundler Jon Corzine (The Worst P.O.S. on Planet Earth™) receives some justice...

Proving once again that sooner or later, eventually... most of us get what we deserve.

Not true.  French doughboy deserves 5 months of torture and then a miserable 3 day painful wait for certain death.

I fortunately didn't lose anything in the Mt. Gox scandal, but it is good to see justice being served. Perhaps it will serve as a warning to others that just because it is BTC doesn't mean you are immune from prosecution for scamming.

What I don't get is how he ran away from France to avoid arrest there, yet managed to get Japanese citizenship, or at the minimum the right to work and live there. Doesn't Japan have a vetting system for foreigners who want to permanently live there? If you want to go to the USA for a few weeks they want to know if you have ever been arrested, and you have to provide all kinds of government reports like a criminal record check.

Only if you are from some dumb-assed place like Lebanon.  French people - even the crooks come into the US all day long.

No, to westerners who don't know, Japan's prisons are very safe. Life is very regimented to keep the safety. Many elderly Japanese who have not saved for retirement actually purposely commit petty crime to get incarcerated so that they can get free nursing home care. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-15/japan-s-prisons-are-turning-into-nursing-homes (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-15/japan-s-prisons-are-turning-into-nursing-homes)

No butt raping in Japanese prisons:

Not true. I know someone from western Europe who had to go through all that crap to get the right to work and iive there. He had to go through even more crap after that to apply for a green card. I know he was terrified of getting any kind of criminal conviction, and even getting arrested and released without charge because he had to supply government reports showing any criminal record, and also any arrest record.

How could MK get any government criminal record reports from France if he was due to be arrested there if he went back?
