What?  You're not going to replace bitcoin?  You're not going to the moon?  You don't have fancy graphics, roadmaps, and grandiose plans of instant wealth?  You don't have some convoluted asinine scheme that will never work but is compelling enough to draw in the naive?  No ico?  No premine? 

You know what?  This coin is as good as any of the pump and dump scams that have launched in the last couple of weeks.  You know the ones that put some btc in the pockets of a few and leave the rest of those foolish enough to invest in standing there with a bag full of worthless coins.  I find it refreshing and in fact i'm mining it right now.  It has absolutely no value at this point so there is nothing to lose.  I'll mine it for awhile.   

LOL, I actually made this coin as a verification system for demonbucket.com users to have a way to verify who they are talking to because we had a lot of people connecting with the same name and no way to tell who was who.

I figured why not go ahead and let all the cryptocoin guys hop in and have fun with us if they are interested, theres a whole bunch of us all chatting, file sharing, and now mining demoncoins. just generally having a good old time.

Let mine some for fun :)

Yes there is a problem with the source.  It needs to be addressed asap.

Hi, ubuntu compiles didn't work from the start for me. Got some blocks on the Windows build, but that throws errors now too. Looks like you'll have to restart the chain.
anyway, I thought of making 'Demoncoin' too, you beat me to it ;-)

It appears there was a couple lines that were causing a segmentation fault. it has been fixed and the source is updated on the github.

Demoncoin is still up and running and is slowly and steadily growing : )

Because people have asked me to attempt to get the coin listed on an exchange I am putting together a doc with the required info to submit demoncoin to bittrex, I chose bittrex to submit to because they have a defined submission process spelled out on their site. if I figure out the process for other exchanges I will submit to them as well.  

I am fully committed to supporting my demonbucket.com project and all of offshoot projects and services that it is continuously spawning. such as Demoncoin!

Getting on an exchange, submitted DemonCoin to Yobit last Thursday, paid for premium (0.1btc) it says coin should be up in 2 business days (guaranteed spot) might take a bit longer, but we should definitely be getting on a exchange soon.

spoke to Blacksmith (over at yobit) he stated that DemonCoin should be listed on the exchange www.yobit.net today or sometime on December 15, 2015 (tomorrow) so fingers crossed if everything works out, you'll be able to trade/buy/sell demoncoin for bitcoin (btc)

i've compiled a mac osx qt.
it has a terrible graphic in wallet. i messed around with the qt form a little but i'm not so savvy with that and didnt succeed :p it's just a tiny little demon icon at the bottom. purely cosmetic

it also takes a few minutes to close when quitted.

going to rent a scrypt miner from www.miningrigrentals.com for another day, pretty much keeping the blockchain in sync, umm if you find the blockchain is out of sync, once a new block is found, the wallet will get right back in sync and be updated

done hashing...I seemed to be the only one, so was single handingly keeping the blockchain in sync.

if the wallet does go out of sync, just throw some hash/mine and once a new block is found, everything will be back & working

If you are the only one mining, you're making the difficulty unnecessary high.

well i initially rented a 20 mh miner, but since im the only one mining, after a bit the difficulty gets too high anyway for me to get blocks...

If you're the only one mining, difficulty should stabilise around the block time target. If not, someone else is mining too.

yeah, its still alive network still has several nodes online and its still listed on yobit.  The Demonsaw Filesharing network is still going strong but I am no longer operating the servers as I turned them all over to Demonsaw LLC so they have control over their own network.  I'm not sure if anyone still uses this coin for anonymous verification of identity anymore as it was intended.  But, if people are interested we could potentially fork the coin to a better algorithm and possibly reduce the number of coins that are going to be produced significantly so that this coin would be much more usable as a real cryptocurrency.
