Title: blockchain explorer can't find my transaction Post by: pepto on September 12, 2015, 04:21:20 PM Yesterday I sent .234 btc to a known good address and my bitcoin core v11 wallet shows 95 (and growing) confirmations.
When I looked up the transaction number on a couple of chain explorers they all say 'not found'. Is there a simple explanation? Should I be worried?? Can you post the TX ID so a few people can review it? I'm thinking it's not a transaction until the receiver opens his wallet which he may not have done, if that makes any sense. The string you linked isn't a TXID, the -000 doesn't belong. However Code: 76665379a21ad11b41524e65eba048df6edca74be432fd537217ded199859611 And amounts sent correspond to what you've described in your first post. As for the receiver, nobody needs to open anything to receive transacted Bitcoins. You can send Bitcoin to an address nobody controls and they will end up there anyways. About that -000 thing, the TXID was copied directly from my wallet. Is this just one of those things I'm supposed to know but don't? I'm not sure why Bitcoin core would add -000, I haven't used its front end it in years. I recognized that it didn't belong there because TXID can't contain "-". Yes it's there now. the -000 has something to do with output numbers, but I'm not entirely sure what it is for.About that -000 thing, the TXID was copied directly from my wallet. That doesn't matter. There is no way that any node would know whether the receiver has opened his wallet to see the transaction or not. Everything is recorded in the blockchain, not sent to someone's wallet.Title: Re: blockchain explorer can't find my transaction Post by: rz20 on September 13, 2015, 02:38:38 AM Thank you guys.
