BURST has an in-wallet marketplace. You can see what's listed currently at this website:

ebay it's not, but maybe with some upgrades...

openbazaar is probably the only good decentralized marketplace - and they're only in pre-alpha state.

there's no good alternative to cryptothrift at the moment, in my opinion.

adoption is the key

see ebay/facebook/google/bitcoin
it is a user account numbers game

But networking top platforms (and coins) ... for lack of a better word ... into a supernet market ... seems the likely out come.

Still think the top3 will be use the classic website model with crypto platforms on the side.

Freemarket is a good software but i need some more improvements. Freemarket and open bazaar are my favorites for becoming the crypto ebay one day.

Hey, thanks for the list!

I know its not an ebay-type store, but I recently found a website for MTG that accepts/pays in bitcoin called blacklotusgo.com.  Surely they deserve a mention for being awesome enough to take crypto, however I have not tried their service yet.

Bitbay sounds the most promising, especially if they can get pegging to work and reduce price volatility.

Hopefully one that doesnt have the fees like FeeBay (EBay) does.  Would be nice to have a site that deals with BTC but also other options for payments.  For seller EBay killed most of them with there fees.

Would be nice to have a good place to buy and sell without the huge fees cutting into profit.   Something like a flat rate fee for all sellers so they know exactly what they are getting hit with.  Ebay hits you for everything.  listing, add-ons, final value fee, and then you have to use PayPal so there are your Paypal fees as well.

So I dont care unless I am able to sell and not get wacked with $30 in fees worth of BTC.

Any that lean that way?

Here's the NXT-based FreeMarket project:

Nxt itself has the Marketplace function built in:

It really doesn't get used enough......

The cost to post an item in FreeMarket is just 7.77 NXT, and the only other fees are for actions that use the blockchain - 1 NXT per transaction, so an entire cycle of listing an item, being paid, and communicating with your buyer can cost under 10 NXT (approx. US$ 0.10). No percentages of your final sale price, no high fees.

Under $.10.  Cheap compared to the real EBay.   Ill look and join in for sure if it stays that way.

This is something i've been looking into recently as I think there's a lot of potential in this area.

I'm interested to see what happens with SDC's Shadowmarket. They've just ported over the BIP32 (HD wallet) framework so that they can have tree-level categories and the market alpha is due next month. Not sure if the 'crypto ebay' would be appropriate for the finished product but I think there's potential for some serious money to be moving through a decentralized market it if they get it right.

Put it this way, if I were looking for one to make money on that would be it. BTW perhaps you should differentiate between the decentralized markets and the others that are just standard sites selling goods/holding auctions using alts. The decentralized ones seem a far more interesting proposition.

Will there be a way to browse Shadow listings without the client?
Someone can easily create a third party website which could pull this from the client via API and display it on a website.

If you're looking to sell something illegal then of course openbazaar will be the place for you.  If you just want to avoid having to give your ID in order to be able to sell, then that is understandable, but the fact remains that businesses MUST comply with AML laws / KYC regulation.  Bitify only enforce ID verification for people wanting to sell monetary value goods (gift cards, PayPal, etc) to prevent money laundering - you can't complain about that.

BURST has an in-wallet marketplace. You can see what's listed currently at this website:

ebay it's not, but maybe with some upgrades...

I think BURST will be the real deal, it's in-wallet, no need to install anything else, and it's listing fee is almost 0.

Anybody can sell there, we only need more users :)

Or use the web wallet:

Naw.  Don't get the need for "Authorized Participation" in a Decentralized / Non-Authoritarian money system.  Your rep is public, there is no need to KYC, they don't want you to sell dead babies then just don't list illegal things, but not gonna submit private info.  Besides the already have IP, shipping addresses, likely attached websites.  It is not a dark market, and yahoos that think this KYC for the buying/selling of things is still a-okay please send me a copy of your gov ID, DOB, home address, and tel. ;)  KYC is for dealing in fiat aka money aka the property of the state.

This has nothing to do with Bitcoin being decentralized.  There is still a transfer of value and, in some cases, one side of that transfer is fiat.  In this case the business has a legal obligation to meet AML regulation, whether they want to ask for your ID or not.  If they don't do it, they get in a lot of legal trouble.  Decentralised marketplace just circumvents this because there is no central authority operating it.

Nice directory of sites but some of them seem to be down at the moment.
Kind of close to eBay but I doubt they will operate in the long run like eBay.

Well, do all of them ship worldwide?
