I'm not sure that's the best reference for someone to get started.
That article from early 2014 recommends Mt Gox and stated that the block reward for mining is 50 BTC.

Try to read forum posts, blogs and understand how trading works. Basic rule is buy low, sell high but it doesn't end there. You can try with what you can afford to lose , but as you understand more about the coins, developments, longevity, market you know which coins to choose and trade. But its not everybody's game!! not all good miners are better traders and vice versa. If you really want to jump in test with some coins.

they are using bot all the time, they do not trade manually, they find a good strategu and implement it with an algorithm in their code

also i think that many traders have big money and are manipulators, with this they can assure that their portfolio will increase in value

I'm not a trader but basically (afaik) traders earn bitcoin by buying low and selling it high, as simple as that ;)

they sell at higher prices when they buy BTC, at least most of the times.

they earn bitcoins because they have the patience to wait for the right time to sell and not because they see they already have profit when they sell.

Buy low sell high at the right moment  ;) (not recommended for less experienced)
Try not to buy into the peaks. They can fall fast.
Sometimes patience pays off.

How do beginners know what the peak is? Most of them don't dare to buy when the price is getting beaten to the ground while this is the best time to buy yourself a load of coins. Beginners get excited when they see a rising price and use that as a confirmation to buy. That's mostly when it is nearly/too late.

There are i think 3 ways traders earn money
1.Buying Low and Selling High
2.Using Leverage which offers Nice Profit
3.By providing Loan to other traders

so simply, rule nº1: buy low, Sell High
rule nº2: follow rule nº1

as simply as that.
you have a plenty of altcoins to choose to trade with it, do some research and try to be successful in your decision, that's all :)

also there is lot of people using bots, those bots made the trade more faster and precise, ofc those bots cost money or if you are smart enough you can build your own one :)

May I warn you that this is very hard, to earn money from trading! I see that you are a beginner, so if someone told you go and trade Bitcoin and alts and you will make money then they have lied to you.

If you are a professional Forex, stocks, etc.. trader, you know how to read charts and signals that market sends you then OK. You can make money while trading BTC. If you have no experience with trading whatsoever I strongly advise you that you don't trade. Read, learn about Bitcoin, research about markets and how all this is working instead.

Simplest rules here. Put in some low buy orders and hope you get lucky, then try sell them for a high price during a panic buy. Profit?

"Buy low and sell high" is number 1 rule of trading but there are other important things you need to know.
*Learn technical analysis. Learn what is RSI, MACD, STOCH, William R etc.
*Analyise history of Bitcoin price.
*Make predictions and see if your prediction happens, don't trade with real money directly.
*Educate yourself and check Bitcoin news regularly. Know what happen in the community.

The most traders don't earn money because they are amateurs. Only user who invest longterm into good coins or users which are using tradebots are making really money.

Trading just like gambling ( we can profit or loss also ) But the advantage of trading is there's no house edge against it.
Just like we playing real stock, we buy on low and sell high. The value of altcoin usually depend on how the marketing influence to spread out the world

The main basis for trading is to;

Never use all of your stack, let's say 25%
Buy low and Sell High. stipulate your selling position. sell between 12% to 15% profit
when buying, if the price falls down, either buy more and try to edge to sell at a higher point or sell it at max 10% loss.

Most of major coins make + - %5 in a day. They know technical analysis and analyze the charts, they are using something like fibonacci, bollinger etc.

trader take advantage by bitcoin 's fluctuations prices and to be honest it is not easy to earn big profits. A trader buy bitcoin or alternative coin in low prices then when the price goes up few percent they sell their coin  and get profits but sometimes the price of bitcoin / alternatives coin go down deep from the number they have bought

this is very easy you only buy at bitcoin is low price and sell it at high price. Hear look easy but in fact...... a lot people can not do this

you can earn to trade in the way of buy low sell high..thats the prosedure of traders to earn bitcoin..

Study a few coins that you're interested in. Learn the ins and outs. Buy when you think there are lots of developments coming out or other good news. Sell when the sentiment is bearish. Or you can try to trade on TA but that takes years of work.

By being really smart and taking money from all the little guys.  But these days it seems if you hold long enough everyone earns money in this market.

Basic thing is you need to be aware of what is going on in the market. How, when and why the price changes? Try to buy at lowest cost and sell at higher price . This is how you can earn

Traders earn profit only 1 way- buy low sell high.You should ask how to be a good trader?.Trading is a skill you won't master in 1 night.You have to be prepared to lose in the beginning.Practice trading as much as you can with small amount of coins and then move to big amounts when you are confident.If you still fail then i advice to quit trading as it is not for everyone and remember do not trade more then you can afford to lose.
