LE: sorry for being a dick  :) thought that you ask 6k for 1 unit. sorry!

LOL I'm hoping that he means $6000 for all 10.  Otherwise $300 shipping for one within the US would also be pretty crazy.

Yes, price is $6000 for all 10.  My initial hope was to sell all 10 to the same buyer, but I am willing to sell them in any quantity.  The math for per-unit is pretty straight forward, $6000/10=$600 $600 per unit.

you take escrow?

I would prefer not to, but if it is an absolute deal-breaker I will consider it.  The only real reason I prefer not to is that I've been scammed very bad on eBay and PayPal before, and with an escrow service the same types of scams can occur.

If you buy, I can send you a copy of my drivers license or something like that.  Then, if you have a problem, I will be very easy to track down.

I can assure you that there is not a single problem with me or any of the miners.  I have sold over 1000 items on eBay, and have 100% feedback with over 250 positive reviews (UserID: Hackintoshseller - you can know it's me because I posted the same ad yesterday)

If you use Escrow stick to OgNasty or Tomatocage here and you wont have any issues.

im willing to make business if we use escrow, any of what you say makes no sense, this is not ebay, you are a newbie user, no rep at all, and you have these "MINERS" listed as an AD on ebay... why you dont make a buy now listing? also a 6000$ deal and you say that you can't take calls on the phone, really dude? x'D

When I first saw this ad, I immediately assumed "SCAM" because it was a new account.

But after reading the entire post and him explaining why he is selling the miners and publicly posting his phone number, I assumed it was genuine.

And now since he refuses escrow and doesnt' answer him phone, its seems like another scam attempt.

Scammers are putting in more effort it seems to scam people these days.

What? A brand new account selling high value items without any proof of ownership and not wanting escrow?

What on earth could go wrong........ ::)

Mods need to start being more liberal with the ban hammer and raising fees for TOR users.  I think 70% of the posts in this section are blatant scams by lazy teenagers.  It is starting to have a negative effect on the user experience here.

I agree 100%, this forum is a magnet for scammers :(.

Perhaps there should be a sticky topic at the top of this 'goods' and 'computer hardware' sections with minimum requirements for newbie listings including details about posting pictures with username and date and using escrow.

Any newbie accounts that don't comply should be banned.

Hopefully it would stop the scammers coming back.

I never said I don't answer the phone.  I said sometimes I get busy, and can't answer the phone.  In other words, I do accept calls and answer the phone, but sometimes am unavailable.  90% of the time I can either answer the phone or call back within 2 hours.

As for the escrow, I will do escrow through OgNasty.  I did not realize it was such a huge no-no to consider not accepting it.

I am also having someone take pictures of the miners for me, as there is some doubt that I truly have them.  The only reason I didn't put pictures of them up, is that I am about 30 minutes away from where they are and don't want to make the drive until it's time to send them on their way.

Please read above.  I will take escrow.  I can take calls.

The reason for not doing a BuyItNow listing on eBay is because eBay takes 10% the sale, and then PayPal takes another 2.9%.  That would be over $750 in fees.

Hmmm, it could easily be someone pretending to be this kid, https://www.strava.com/athletes/2878810 a google of the number gives a ton of information, phone number, work, photo, facebook, youtube. This may be an example of over extending yourself online and scammer saw this opening and a lapsed phone number he could easily take over.

That or OP is who he says he is and needs to understand that this forum is extremely escrow heavy and esspecially with new users.

Though I am only 19 (soon to be 20), I somewhat disagree with you calling me a kid, in what I assume to be a negative connotation.  I started making things things happen at a very early age. I taught myself how to code HTML and JavaScript when I was 10, started a business that made real money at age 13 (with no help from parents, ect.), and started a business with explosive profits and consumer interest at age 15.  Please note, I'm not at all offended, I just want it make it clear to everyone that I'm not some stupid kid.

All that aside, yes this is me that you found.  I changed my bio on Strava to say I am selling my miners.  I'm somewhat curious, how were you able to find all of this information using only my phone number?  When I search my phone number on google, all I get is an old Manta page.  I don't think it's very good have all of my information found so easily, and would like to tighten up my online presence if possible.

After getting lit up with all kinds of remarks from quite a few users, I definitely understand now that the forum is very escrow heavy, especially for new users.   I'm rather surprised, really, how nuts some people are that I'm a new user.  Some people, like myself, just aren't all that into posting to and reading forums.

Thanks for your explanation, when you're ready to post pictures of the units you're selling with your username and date please do :).

It's obvious we don't trust newbies around here because of the high amount of scams.

Attached are 2 pictures of the miners that are being kept at my dad's house.  In these pictures, there are (4) S4, (2) S3, and (1) S4+.  It probably won't be until tomorrow, that I have pictures of the other (6) S4 at his office.

If anyone is wondering, I am willing to sell the S4+.  Just make me an offer.

EDIT: Added picture of paper showing my username and the date.

Whomever purchases these needs to look at the background in those pics.

I wish you well in selling your gear OP and I was interested until I looked at the price and saw the pics.

You cannot keep miners in such conditions and expect them to last long.
Further, you certainly should not keep them in such conditions and then sell them for over top dollar.

Specifically, the lack of filters and high RPM fans on the S4 pull every bit of crap laying around and lay it in patterns across the hash boards. When you have humid periods the moisture mixes with the patterns of filth and becomes further pushed in nooks and corners of components.
Depending on the the exact makeup of the crap you have laying around versus what someone else may have is how fast the break downs start to occur.

Pull one of the S4s at random, pull the covers, and take a magnifying glass to begin viewing the side of the components which would be against the incoming flow of fans and you will begin to see what I mean.

If miners are kept in a dirty, filterless environment then expect to have early death.

Having said that you can clean them up and get filters on them sooner than later.
Unfortunately you cannot stop anything organic, such as rust, but you can stop other, milder organic growth, and remove the lager pieces of buildup.

YMMV, Buyer Beware, and on and on, but I have seen a buddy of mine make the same mistake.
#1 clean the area and keep it clean.
#2 Filter, filter, filter and you still have issues in any home environment, but not as bad as without.

I would be interested if it weren't for price and quality.
These should be priced much lower.

Good Luck and I hope you are clear to people regarding what they are getting.
How long have you had them and how many times have you pulled the covers?

I am not going to ask if they were kept in a positive or negative pressure environment...

I just saw this, and I'm really not sure what to make of it.  The conditions the miners are in, in the pictures, are not at all as you describe them.  They are not humid environments, nor are they dirty.
In front of the breaker, the humidity is always about 37%-40%, as there is a big dehumidifier about 6ft away.  As far as dirt goes, I don't really even know where you think it would come from.  There are 3 with asthma in the house, so if the air had dirt floating around in it, it would be well known and taken care of immediately.
In the bay, the area where the miners are was swept before they were put there.  Looking closely I do see a few leaves came in, but I doubt any got to the miners as they seem too far away for that.  As for humidity, the humidity in this area was about 48% all last week.  There is a 25ton, 7-axis custom CMM about 30ft in front of where the miners are.  It cost about 1 million dollars to make, and it is sensitive to temperature, humidity, dust, etc.  The whole room is controlled and monitored for everything, though I will admit that may have been slightly compromised while the door was cracked.
On top of all of this, the miners were only run in these places from 7pm Monday to 9pm Wednesday and Noon Tuesday to 5pm Thursday, to ensure they did not experience any damage during transport, and a final check for no Xs or -s in the ASIC reporting.  I don't think they could have experienced any damage in less than 3 days.  Previously all of the miners were in a server closet type room, which was air conditioned and had an exhaust duct that went out the roof. If you pay attention to the fan grills, you will notice they are all shiny and have no rust. The miners all down now, and will be until they are purchased.

I Believe the miner's are most likely in good working order. As for the conditions they look to be in pretty good shape.

Yes from the pictures they are for sure not kept in the best running conditions. I do not think they where in a 1 million dollar humidity environment. But I think they where kept in a normal house environment or garage environment. The grills do bring some questions though like how long they have been sitting in the garage. I mean the are shiny but the top one has a dead crispy looking bug attached to it. Looks like it has been there awhile. The bottom one also has a packing peanut stuck to it as well. Make it seems the miners where in the garage a lot longer than the seller would like you to know.

I am sure they are in good working order but should they be top priced, no they are used miners regardless where they are kept. Your asking to much and with the new s7's already coming out, this will bring even less people wanting to buy s4's, Why spend 6k on used s4's. Use the 6k to buy brand new s7's. More speed and they are brand new.

I really hope you get what you want out of these unit. but for me they are to high priced.
