They make a good point - by showering daily, we are not letting our immune system build itself up.

I'm sure he's gone in a pool, or lake, or something, within the last 12 years.  It's "sensationalism" advertising for his product.  :)

He may have not taken a shower in 12 years but he sure did took a bath.

Man it would be disgusting to not have any hygene for that long, your skin would come off and you would look like a person that has leprosis :D

It would be the most disgusting thing, not to mention the smell. Even homeless people sometimes go to a lake or river to wash themselves, but this would be just horrible.

To be fair I consider going into a pool of water in any form a shower of sorts
(Beach or Pool getting drenched by rain etc)
That said Bacteria mist showers well it would be interesting to have around in a zombie apocalypse where you don't want to waste your water supplies  8)

Having a bit of dirt on you isnt going to do much. Poor hygiene can lead to many other diseases too, plus you smell really bad. You don't need to shower every day but every few days is advisable.

I always got "disgusted" if any of my family members did bath only once a day (for instance if they came home too late at night and got too lazy or tired to go to bath). And this guy?? 12 years no shower?? Just can't imagine.. ewww....

There was a guy that used to come into my old job that would always stop and talk with my boss and I before he left - he'd go on and on about how bathing is unhealthy and how he would only shower once every few weeks - a real bizarre character and reading this story immediately made me think of him... he was a wanna-be bodybuilder that always wore the same filthy tank top and bandana - "the uniform" as we dubbed-it - and the part we would crack-up about was he wouldn't shower or bathe, but was always talking about how he had to go spray tan...

Believe it or not, I remember reading once that in the Middle Ages a noble, of which I don’t remember his name, Bathed only 2 or 3 times in his entire life.

Really, the shower was invented by the ancient romans or greeks, i dont remember.

They had water conducting systems and there were saunas, pools, and showers in ancient times already.

Unthinkable. Not because him is dirty or not (I am not interested to judge this) but having 12 years without the pleasure of the shower is really a ... (I don't find the word to tell)... How is possible to live  in this way....

Except when fungus grows on your skin and other bacteria enters in your bloodstream in the tiny ventilation holes that are on your skin, then it becomes an internal battle.

Not to mention leprosy and other disgusting things that can happen by not having atleast basic hygene.


Pigs atleast have think skin, and even they get sick sometimes from not having a bath, but humans must wash themselves lol.

Lots of people don't take showers. But that doesn't mean they don't bathe. These jokers simply bathe in a different way. Whats the big stink about - pun intended?

I dont wash as often as i did when i was younger, i dont think it is healthy to shower daily personally - maybe if you only use water its ok daily.  Thats my thoughts...

i dont know this guys pro-biotic washing system (or whatever it is) but i'm not giving up my daily bath for anything. i dont use much soap, shampoo even less and never use deodorant, i smell fine. no one ever complains, and my friends wouldn't be shy to if i was stinking. he has a point that soaps and detergents are over used, but hot water is never going out of style.

also, he makes a good point about bacteria and such, but what about his ass? you gotta wash off all that sticky shit once in a while.

he should team up with the soylent guys. dont eat, dont wash... maybe he can figure out a way to never sleep too. i think he's got the dont have sex part totally dialed in by the looks of him

Greeks and Romans were the first with running -cold- water and less rudimentary showers.

Actually you can keep yourself clean and hygienic without showers by using some cleaning towels, but taking a bath or getting a shower is a pleasant thing. I guess using such cleaning stuff instead of water will be quite widespread as soon as we will start colonizing arid places like the Moon or the Mars.

 as a shower addict, i cant even imagine a day without water touching on my skin ... this lifestlye isnt for me .. if so i would rather be death then..

Daily shower is good but you don´t necessarily have to use soap every day. Or shampoo. I think overuse of that may very well be harmful. Probably not a good idea to accumulate too much dubious additive shit along with what you get with the food. And other things.

Its not possible in this world that someone not taken showers over 12years. If we don't take shower everyday then we feel like itching something and feels very awakward. A very lazy man also take showers in two or three days.

Just shower when you feel dirty or smell bad instead of making it a daily routine. Some people take a shower to wake up in the morning and then another before going to bed. It has to make their skin really dry.

maybe  not shower, but i guess that he at least was in a pool, lake, or something like this...no way he didn't washed his self for 12  years...Some doctors claim that shower is not good to be practiced more than 5 minutes

Very difficult to believe this. I normally take two baths a day (once in the morning and then in the evening). I am residing in the tropics and here it is normal to take one or two baths every day. If someone goes without a bath for more than two or three days, then the stench will be identifiable from as far away as 100 feet.  ;D

i dont agree with you a modern human being has to take a shower everyday because a person must be smell well and look neat rather than looking dirty and smelling bad..

That dude looks way too clean to not have showered for even one year, much less 12.  Christ, I feel dirty just reading this thread. 

On side that most of us take shower everyday, this guy is right about immune system. Now we run to doctors on every cold and they give pills like crazy. Big giveaway of pills..
Making your environment sterile (or your body) risk to catch something is bigger when ever u get out.
Showers and and hot baths was for rich people in history, for ordinary (lucky) ones there was nature.

One would still take a bath even if he live on greenland for maybe even just once a month but for 12 years?

Oh I think this this is disgusting really if someone has not bathed in all this time. Its different if you have not got access to clean water, or any water for that matter or live in a remote desert.

Keeping yourself clean is not just beneficial for your health but says a lot about you to other people. Whether you shower daily or weekly is not the point but at least a regular clean is must for every human.....

I read somewhere that in Europe prior to the industrial revolution, bathing was actually considered as an unhealthy and dangerous practice. When the conquistadors reached the Americas, they were disgusted by the scene of Indians bathing so often. Well... that is understandable... given the cold weather conditions prevailing in Europe.  ;D

I take a shower at least 2 per day and like on weekend lie in the bath..so can not imagine such thing..how can he?
