Title: GPU Rig/Case recommendations?
Post by: noveske on September 15, 2015, 06:03:55 AM
Hi,

Could somebody recommend where I can get a GPU rig/case for about 4-6 GPUs, preferably in the UK?

Thanks

Are you looking for an open rig?
Having that many GPUs in a box would lead to heat problems in no time.

You could go cheap and use a crate or build something like this:

Yep an open air rig would do it.
I would prefer a prebuilt one, that particular one has $260 shipping cost to the UK  :o

Holy hell.  That high for shipping.  If I had the spare time I would build you one and be able to ship it fr way less then that.  then again I have international shipping accounts.

A quick google search lead me to a Dogemining reddit page. See https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bz3e6UVDPWwvSURVcUR6aGtkRlU/edit for building instructions.

What you could do, if you don't have aluminum tubing and connectors, go out and buy some smaller wood profiles and screw it together! In the end all what you want is to have the GPUs elevated from the motherboard for better cooling.

each case has its own merits. You must choose a case that is made of metal and has a nice cooling volts and has a fast RPM

I always love the look of wood.  However for larger operations it can be heavy.  And also a fire hazard.  Unless treated.

But always like the look of wood.
