Title: BlockChain Onion is a POS
Post by: JambaJuice on September 15, 2015, 08:21:38 PM
The site never works and constantly says this,

Quota Exceeded (Req Count Limit)

You may get 15 minutes of use for an hour+ of not being able to log in.

The thing barelys works.

Edit for title error.

My guess is that the OP is referring to blockchain.info onion link: https://blockchainbdgpzk.onion/
It doesn't work for me either.

It is not POS, it is Proof Of Work. You try over and over again and eventually it will work for one lucky person.

You need to open blockchain onion with TOR browser. It's not safe i think.
Better to don't use a TOR if you can't handle the security system for your system. And try to use other bitcoin wallet, cold wallet is better.

Ok, interesting, but someone can explain what it the benefit of using onion version of blockchain info over normal site?
Is Op trying to access his online blockchain wallet through TOR network to be ultra safe from spying eyes?

I'm never use blockchain wallet on TOR actually.
But AFAIK you need to clean your PC/Laptop from sensitive file which you save, before to start using TOR network. I'm too sceptic to use TOR.

Use summat else?

Blockchain.info hasn't had a shortage of issues over the years, nor has Tor. There has to be better anon option out there but it's not something I feel the need to use.

It's better to connect directly to their https site via tor, if you need to use tor.  It still doesn't work very well (IP bans, overload from IP, Maximum endpoint errors, etc.), but you connect more often than trying to use the onion link, in my experience.

I'm surprised noone has pointed out the title's use of POS.

In btc context: PoS is proof of stake.

In common context: POS is Piece of shite.

And my two cents about using tor: after finding out that some exit nodes in Russia could implant viruses in downloads that the node was handling, I abandoned tor altogether.
Apparently its been remedied now, but that is a violation of my trust that will probably never be repaired.

evanito, surprised.
The00Dustin, not so much...
Also, I hope you never find out that a bitcoin node was once able to insert more than 21,000,000 counterfeit BTC, because even though it has been remedied, I'd expect that to also be a violation of your trust that might never be repaired.
