There's no best programming language to learn. The answer varies greatly depending on your requirements, preference, time constraint, etc.
Programming languages are like religions and some developers are more religious.

If you want to get a job in big business (Microsoft), learn C#.  It's a language for windows apps, web pages, mobile devices, almost everything.

I would be interested in creating something userful and fast for now, I have like interest in developing maybe games for android, but also some interesting stuff for computers, like rpg(with no advanced tech like 3d for now)
I was asking cause I was looking at python, and it seems that it's a nice "toy" to play with, sure, I didn't realized very big stuff(A part a scrypt that tells you how many times you runned that script).
And I'm also training myself with project euler, to push myself to actually work on it, instead of looking at the manuals only.

I wanna recover my creative mind(that I had in photoshop), stimulating it with something different, so maybe I can be back at kicking in both
I will take a look at c# too, because I heard good stuff about that too.

Like said before: there is no best language... Everybody has his favorite flavour...

That being said: i think a lot of scripting languages have a smaller learning curve than "real" programming languages.

I personally started of with writing perl scripts, then started scripting in php... It was pretty easy to pick up.

I never liked C++ even if I was good at it, my teacher always said I had a carreer if I kept going like that, but at the time, my brain was mindfocused to something else, that's the problem of being young and silly.
But yeah, I when I will have a good relationship with python I will try a second language.
Or maybe I will just apply myself for django :D

Dooglus and I had some PM exchanges :) See what he has to say :)

Hi doog ;D
So, i just started to learn c++ (Just started) and i found learncpp.com very helpful.. How much will I actually learn if i learn all those chapters from learncpp.com and btw i really want to create awesome projects like an automated trading bot all by myself. How much time will it take for me learn so that i can code Automated Trading Bots or for instance a JD betting bot? Thanks :)

Hi.

That site looks like it will teach you all of C++ if you stick with it.

But why C++? I wouldn't recommend C++ as a first language to learn. I would recommend Python. It's much quicker and easier to get something up and running with Python than C++.

I think that C is the best for beginning. If you want to start with programming you can start with C. It is easy programming language. You can start with any examples. You can find a lot of tutorials for C. But I think that if you learn one programming language then it is easy to programming in any other program language( you should to learn only syntax on the program language) :)

c#, nodejs should get you a job
go, nodejs, scheme if you want to have fun ;-)

EDIT: oh and please dont do vb.net... only reason it exists is because ms needed the old visual basic devs to do something useful in the .net world... its aweful. if you want .net learn c#
