Title: [2015-09-16] PayPal to Reclaim Stake in US Online Gambling from Bitcoin?
Post by: tyz on September 16, 2015, 11:25:39 AM
PayPal has recently announced their return to the U.S. online gambling scene, as the company will once again be facilitating deposits and withdrawals by these websites. Is this a move to reclaim the market share they lost to bitcoin exchanges?

Sure it is, and tbh it would indeed take away a big ammount of new people interested in bitcoin only because of the gambling freedom

Recall that PayPal prohibited the use of its online payments platform on U.S. gambling websites back in 2003 when it formed a merger with eBay

PayPal was out of the online gambling industry for more than 10 years? They will have a difficult time gain market share now. Players have been used to credit cards and more sites are accepting bitcoin. What advantage does PayPal have over credit card and bitcoin? Lower their fees and they might have a chance.
