It does not correct. Getting better hardware (CPU & SSD) with a better internet connection will affect syncing in a positive way. Like really clean them and put them in an air tight bag. They will not be able to process blocks and transactions to assist with syncing it indexing.Title: Re: Using miner to speed up core sync? It has more to do with the size of the blockchain and the amount of bandwidth required to download the whole chain. You may want to use the bootstrap.dat file to speed up the download rate. With core .11, this won't work, it syncs as fast as a torrent would download it full speed. It has to do with the processing and filing of every block that there is, the CPU limits this. Bitcoin Core allows you to simultaneously download the blockchain from different peers hence reducing the time. The only possible bottleneck is the speed that your computer reads/write your HDD/SSD at or CPU. CPU power is needed as the client need to verify each block individually.
