Title: Newbie Question about HD Wallets
Post by: HardcoreSuperstar on September 20, 2015, 01:57:04 PM
I wonder if a wallet seed could be imported into another HD wallet.

Let me add an example.
I have an Electrum wallet and this service won't be updated anymore in the future. Or simply I wanna move my funds, my labels and addresses into another wallet ( for example GreenAddress ) . In a case like this one, could I add Electrum seed on Greenaddress ( or another HD wallet ) and restore all my funds and addresses?

Seeds are generally not compatible across different clients, but there are some that are. This thread has a link that shows the incompatibilities between the various wallets: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1000544.0

Thank you for your answers.
Imho, it would be very nice if a way to make all seeds compatible between different wallets will be find...
