Title: Bitcoin Stock Markets
Post by: osoverflow on September 22, 2015, 05:12:39 PM
Hello!

I'm looking for bitcoin stock markets. I currently know about:

Colored Coins with MasterXchange.com
Counterparty, but it requires XCP and don't like very much
LitecoinInvest.com
Cryptostocks.com

Which other are in operation? specially ones that liquidate the stocks using the blockchain.

Thank you!

I know it's a cliche - But be careful

I looked into Havelock in some detail and I didn't like what I saw

Not sure about the others you mentioned.

Do your own research and don't make stupid decisions like I have in the past.

Good luck

tuminium.com is another exchange for stocks and cryptos, but it is not blockchain-based yet

Would love to know more options for this as well :)

The S.O.C. utilizes the NXT Asset Exchange, and Burst....Soon, we will add BTS (bitshares) once 2.0 is released. Stay away from centralized asset exchanges as they can fold easily like we have seen with many others from the past...coinsortium for example.

Domain name + ssl have expired but it is not down, can be still accessed using the ip(92.62.131.129) instead of domain name.  a workaround is to add to HOSTS file using "92.62.131.129 litecoininvest.com" or enter the IP directly in browser eg https://92.62.131.129/

A centralized exchange shouldn't be an issue, though, so long as the businesses you invest in keep their own logs.

There were one called mpex.co. Not sure if it is still live though.

Havelockinvestments.com is another I know...

Avoid Havelock. They could not do anything while AM hash went down. Probably, the only stock trading on Havelock right now is Bitcoin Difficulty Derivative, which is not backed by anything.

Wait, you mean the exchange has no control over what happens in individual companies? HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT?!

Is there an exchange that allows you to buy shares in companies like Google, Apple, Tesla, etc. using bitcoin?

I don't think this is possible, but it doesn't hurt to toss the idea out there.

No, because of KYC/AML and other things. You'd have to report on where your BTC came from and such, so it would pose no benefit over fiat regardless.

Looks like litecoininvest went back up. Hopefully that means HFLTC's acquisition of it went smoothly

Unfortunately, that is what they are saying. The reality is, in bitcoin world, no one is in control.

I'm not quite sure if I can classify this one as a Stock Market option or a crowdfunding site for whales as some of its IPO's are getting listed on stock exchanges.
I'll add bnktothefuture to the list as you can start with Bitcoin then own it in stock (bank is a misspelling ha-ha)

Uh, there's no control in the real world, either. If a company tanks, it tanks. Welcome to life. This is a sure sign you should not be investing in anything.

Can you elaborate on this? I'm seeing equity stocks and even commodities, I do not understand, can I use btc to purchase stocks here?
