Title: Reverting to Previous Version of GUI Client
Post by: JusticeForYou on June 04, 2011, 06:44:28 AM
Hello All,

I, unfortunately, am going to revert to an older version of a GUI Client to avoid the annoying 0.01 Fee in the GUI version of the client. Now, some might know that I give away BTC on the IRC for challenges. I don't mind doing this, but having to be forced to pay a fee for a quick transaction where I have nothing to gain, is not right.

Now for the financial argument against it. 0.01 BTC the last I checked is 14¢, hmm... Quite a business isn't it. Dwolla charges .25¢ and after their overhead they are probably only making 12.5¢ That doesn't quite seem fair for BTC users, at least those with GUI Clients.

My other complaint, is about the removal of the "Generate" option. While it might seem acceptable today, think about the What If's. If the THashes/s fall through the roof in the future, you should not punish GUI Client holders from their chance to make some coin. The action of removing the option seems protective in nature. While I understand the willingness to be protective especially since I also "mine" on and off, it is not being "Fair" to the general client users. Keep it in the Client and put a dialogue box with any information you might want to convey about the use of the option before it is turned ON.

On the last note, it is time to allow the transmission of micro payments in the GUI Client. As proof, 0.01 BTC is 14¢.

Best Regards,

P.S. Don't sign the NDA's Gavin.
