You are right. That forum will be flop exactly like litecointalk forum. There is no incentive to use it really seeing how bitcointalk is dominating.

In order to attract more users, and quality posts to this forum, I'm glad to offer a $1,000 USD in bitcoin prize to the user who makes the most appreciated post on this forum.

The submission deadline will be whenever this forum reaches 10,000 human registered users, or, so long as the forum has at least 5,000 registered human users, Jan 1st, 2016, whichever comes sooner.

At that time, we will start a thread where people can nominate posts for the prize.
After two weeks for nomination submissions, the polling will begin, and be open for two weeks.
Forum members that registered before the deadline will be allowed to vote for which post was the most appreciated.

At the conclusion of the two weeks:
$1,000 USD in bitcoin will be paid to the author of the most appreciated post.

I don't like the site, and i don't like the fact that were once more spreading into mini-groups. One bitcoin forum is more than enough to keep things in one place and quickly accessable.
Next thing you know, we will have 99 btc forums, and none will matter anymore. Doubt there will be much exploiting of name leeching, but that's something that site owner could of consider,
like maybe if he himself reserved all taken usernames from here.

When censorship will occur:
I intend to let any sort of honest discussion take place on this board, but overt attempts at fraud or deception will be dealt with.

One example that may already have happened is the registration of a user name of someone well known in the space by someone other than that actual person. If that is found to have happened, the user will be forced to change their user name, or to create a new account.

Well, not like we don't have multiple fora already.  There's bitcointalk and /r/bitcoin.
oh wait... they're both owned run by the same guy, so I guess that's cool.

I guess it would be a good idea to sticky a thread somewhere here stating,, any deals possibly done on that forum with a trusted username from this forum should be asked to sign a message posted from a long time ago on this forum. You just know there is going to be trouble though doh

That would be useless if the deals are happening on the other forum, not here. It would be a better idea to sticky such a post on the other forum, rather than here.

I registered but didn't receive an activation email. At least now it can't be used by a scammer.  ;D

I find bitcoin.com forum very difficult to catch the thread titles because the original poster and date are under the title. They should modify the theme to have those two lines in a different colour.

site is not very active anyway, just Bitcoin.com domain may mislead newbies if they find the site

I don't think staff from here would be interested participating on a forum hosted by Ver but it's good that the usernames remain unred the hands of someone that isn't a scammer or at least aren't used.

I registered and the activation email was sent to me about 8 hours later, it might be manual or just delayed.

I also registered an account there, with the same nickname: redsn0w  (the problem is that I didn't receive an activation email).

Mine was also EXACTLY 8 hours late and was filtered to spam folder. My account is activated now.
