I think a better question is, "what is your biggest hope regarding cryptocurrencies?"

Well let me delve upon that idea.  My biggest hope for cryptocurrencies in general is for bitcoin to become more and more supported by people opening up more nodes on their computers, which will help transaction times out a lot better.  I think this is essential if we would want a mass adoption type of thing going on, because if bitcoin transaction speed remains this slow, it will keep businesses from mass accepting those fancy bitcoin debit cards we all would love to use.  If we have to wait there for the confirmations to come through, that's no better than holding up a line by writing a check.

Also I hope that there will be another couple of coins that can be developed (or possible already have) that ensure a more secure transaction of currency than just bitcoins basic blockchain.  Since it is so easy to readily track where every coin has come from and where it will be going in the future, I feel like there is a need for a more anonymous type of coin.  I think cryptonotes will take the cake on this area since there is so much being done by making both the sender and the receiver both completely anonymous.

2. stop using bitcoin as a investment (by lots of people) instead of using it as a currency

What do you mean "stop using bitcoin as a investment" I think bitcoin is also design for investment stuff. like saving bitcoin for future.

Yeah, bitcoin is a combination of money (as a currency to pay your stuff) and gold (as a commodity in investment). It has made bitcoin be more special and thats why people love it more than fiat.
I hope there are many shops that accept bitcoin in every corner of the world, or atleast all governments must legalize it, so bitcoin related business could grow.

You are dreaming! hehe Good dream. I hope gov takes more open stance to bitcoin. Bank could adopt bitcion as well. Then the public will be comfortabel to adopt bitcoin.

Mine? Steady adoption but not so much that it leads those in power to see bitcoin as something that should be controlled and manipulated.

Mainstream Bitcoin merchant adoption for every product and service on this planet.  ;) ...When BTC is accepted everywhere, the individual adoption will grow and we would go

mainstream with Bitcoin. It would also be great to hear from Satoshi on what he thinks of all these banks getting in on the action and stealing the "experiment"

My single biggest hope for Bitcoin, will always be to put money and access to FINANCIAL services on a global scale in reach for EVERYONE.

user friendly, price doesn't fluctuate a lot. No security issue.

My hope is a stable price without surprising movements

High price isnt a target, but its a result of mass adoption by world people. So just keep spreading about bitcoin to your family and friends, maybe bitcoin price could reach the moon in future :)

I hope bitcoin will be more adopted in india near future. And hope the price will slightly increase to $300 - $400  ;D

stable high price will make no sense, stable high security i agree with that.

break even on all elec from 2013 till when end date comes and the price of the all the miners when the last of my home miners (titan's ltc to btc) goes do doorstop status :)

anyway that is my Minimum expectations of me thinking small ..as to anything above that in thinking big..for like BTC or LTC pop'ing in price etc I've no frigging clue :)

It's basically all about going mainstream , I don't think price is going anywhere if we don't go mainstream . Halving block reward won't do anything alone if there is no demand on the supply .
Hopefully we will get a stable price (or at least a price changes that poor people could manage and afford)

Well I hope it will be at the same level on par with fiat. Officially recognized and accepted everywhere without that kind of prejudice and negative perception on the coins. Looking forward to have it widely adopted and somehow has become mainstream. Perhaps the biggest challenge is seeing bitcoin being used for retail over-the-counter spending.

I honestly think though for this to happen and before people will want to spend bitcoins over the counter for goods and services, people will need to be paid in bitcoins at their everyday job (and not just over exchange sites and forums like here for instance).  It'll be a serious case of "what's first: the chicken or the egg" type of scenario, but it'll be cool if all that were to happen. I think it will seriously help businesses in the long run track all the spending and resources they use, not to mention how much it will help government keep track of taxing.  Though, the big question remains if government will allow fiat to flop.

Biggest hope? Probably a price hike before the end of the year. Because based on ecoin.eu trading platform and arbitrage, price is way too low at the moment compared to the June price.

We can't go mainstream as long as we don't get rid of drama. Every few weeks we have some other hack, scam, or something third. In the last few months we had a block size increase discussion, and the discussion is not a problem by itself, but the way the discussion took presented that there is a lot of dirty laundry hidden in the Bitcoin community.

I wish that Bitcoin gets rid of drama. I am sure we will be much better off by just doing this.

My biggest hope for bitcoin is to rise in value before the year ends and hopefully by the year 2016. And also that it will have a wider adaption globally by then.

That's a very good point, businesses wouldn't want to transact in a currency that has economical distress concerns and political issues... Example A: Greece.

Once everyone in the core community knows what the hell is going on in terms of block size and other issues, we can all just move forward and progress as a community.

My biggest hope regarding Bitcoin is that its value will increase significantly in the near future.
If something like this happen I may be able to quit my regular job, sell some of my bitcoin funds and enjoy my life, travel around the world :)
I still have a lot faith in bitcoin and hoping the best.

I think most of what I hope and wish had already been mentioned. So I will just sum it up. Getting rid of all the drama and actual issues we are facing. Mainstream breakthough wide spread merchant acceptance and mass adoption. Therefore of course a skyrocketed price.

my only hope at this point is that we are going to use our coins more to buy stuff with. holding a certain amount is nice, but spending to keep everything running is also important. if merchants already know a lot people aren't spending their coins then there isn't a reason for them to accept bitcoin as form of payment.

My hope regarding Bitcoin is this will again touch 1300$ again and we will use this more freely in future as many companies will accept this and more peoples have knowledge about this

For it to achieve such a status that it would be possible to monetize a blog/website via micropayments.

My hope is one day it will be most valuable currency in future.That day my dreams will come true as only Bitcoin can put colors in my dreams.I am quite hopeful and will wait even years even the speed of change is very fast too.This change will come by Bitcoin.

what i hope for bitcoin is first of all to see the price go up like everybody else who has any amount of bitcoin. but also at the same time i want to see more places available for me to actually spend my coins and not just treat them as an investment.

I just hope that it continues to succeed, and that there's not many more huge hiccups. I want more services to be made, and transaction volume to increase. I want stability.

I hope that one day 1 BTC will be more than $ 1000 but I know it will take more time as currently its below $ 300. There are all the possibilities for increase in the prices of bitcoins in future, just people have to trust and use the bitcoins on larger scale which will increase the demand for bitcoins and ultimately the prices of the bitcoins will be increased.

I hope the image of Bitcoin can improve over time. At the moment, there are too many people linking Bitcoin to illegal activities. Of course the increase in price will be great!

My biggest hope for bitcoin is to find a bit coin community in my country and be able to buy physical goods with my btc , I hope I will see that soon

I feel that it would happen for small businesses that take up bitcoin, but it will take a while for bigger businesses to implement the protocol for accepting bitcoin payments I believe. It's going to take a lot to replace the fiat system with cryptocurrencies in general.

Bitcoin should be apart of people's everyday lives, the currency part of it should become the main use and not just use it for investing. I hope the price will go up soon.

The capped supply of bitcoin would be my biggest hope. When compare to world population, the limited bitcoin supply would cause more price rise in short term.

Biggest hope: world domination. Bitcoin should be able to be spent all around the world at most places that accept creditcards etc. Not sure if it will happen but that's my biggest hope for it.

It is possible only if bitcoins goes on mainstream and have higher adoption level, my hope from bitcoins is that it should replace the major currency like USD and become a primary currency which should be used and accepted world wide even for buying vegetable or for grocery stuffs, if this happens than we can say that bitcoins has become a primary currency.

No, there is not hope for that price. I would be amused if bitcoin in 2016 will reach $500.
For now I think we are in a constant loop of $200-$250 price and nothing can change it.
I had slight hope that the halving can change something, but seeing how last one was rather insignificant I am not so sure anymore.

Price raise is the biggest hope for me like many people here. Bitcoin has all the quality for the bigger price. we just need some patience for better results for our expectations.

I want bitcoins to be a worldwide accepted cryptocurrency so that I can use it anywhere any anytime. I currently am not so comfortable in trading bitcoins after hearing of many websites shutting down as they deal with bitcoins and hence if it's legalized, the fear of being a bitcoiner now would not exist in future.

I hope it will be used as a currency more than people in world using paypal.
If bitcoin can capture  the paypal market than there will be nothing in its way to get higher price.

I believe in bitcoin and i think it may go around 1000$ price again in june-july of 2016.

The limited coin supply would make bictoin a huge success. My hope regarding bitcoin is it's limited coins. Previously no other money system has this limitation.

Hoping that the blocksize debate will be over soon. Or is it over already?

I hope we will never need to rely on large commercial enterprises to sustain the Bitcoin network. Such large enterprises are beholden to centralized government.

my biggest hope is bitcoin will be more addopted in this world especially in my country and i wish the price is going up,and the last i wish i could buying some stuff on market via bitcoin.

My biggest hope regarding Bitcoin is that it will be not as volatile as it is now. I think when fluctuation in price is around 2-3% that's okay, but when it is 10-20% or even more this very inconvenient for both sides, for buyers and for sellers.

 I think this fluctuations is the main reason why BTC is not so popular now as we want it to be and I really hope they will stop, the sooner the better.

To me it's purely freedom and being able to pay everywhere possible with Bitcoin. That's what I hope for.

I think bitcoin as a commodity and as a commodity I think it will much much brighter than gold and even diamonds, of course you cannot see or touch it but then that's the beauty of it. I dream of bitcoin bitcoin to become that big enough it would make look good like a normal useless stone.

The limited coin supply and world wide usage are the things those will make bitcoin more successful in coming days. Await a price explosion. I hope bitcoin will scale new peaks. My hope is bitcoin would be the future of world money.

I hope that someday, governments would stay away of this decentralized system and keep their regulations to their beloved fiat, but I don't think it would happen even in the coming decades.

Yes bitcoin would become as a secured and fast international medium of exchange very soon. But it's a by-product in my opinion as bitcoin would make many financial revolutions which might change the world how it currently treating money.

i think bitcoin's price and its popularity are the two main hopes for everyone now.everybody wants to see a huge amount of price growing only upward and more and more peoples join the network but for this to happen people should have access to the markets fully many peoples still dont kniw how to earn and how to get bitcoins so how can we expect them to grow the network

My biggest hope regarding Bitcoin is to see it going mainstream and adopted and accepted by large number of masses around the world to use it just like fiat whenever and wherever I need to purchase something.

The bitcoin transaction can be as fast as present cards.  They both use modern cryptography technology. If the bitcoin technology is insecure, so is the banking system.

That the prices increase at least 100x when I manage to get and save lots of BTC

Then the problem is on the businesses and not bitcoin itself. ::) Bitcoin is pretty damn secure in terms of hacks, but other businesses aren't.
