Title: Where to get openCL?
Post by: noob88 on October 19, 2012, 08:04:49 PM
Hi, could someone direct me where I can install openCL for my GPU? I know pretty much all I have to do is just google but I really don't know what the hell I'm doing right now and don't wanna mess anything up. I'm using an intel(R) 82945G express chipset family.

OpenCL support is from the driver, if your GPU support opencl, then you are ok just by having the drivers

But, in your case, i'm sorry:

This "gpu" does not support OpenCL

K. What about a driver for a Intel Celeron D cpu

There arnt drivers for cpus like you have for a Gpu.

A cpu comes with certain thing or it doesnt.
I Think, you would get something around 2 mH/s if youre lucky. Thats not very much.

Sure there are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCL#OpenCL-conformant_products

Yes sure there are even drivers for HDD's, but its other than an Gpu driver ;)

You shouldn't be mining with just that type of CPU.  You won't really earn anything

Indeed. GPU or FPGA mining is currently the most profitable way to mine. Soon it will be all ASIC's thou.

You're not ever going to make a profit mining on a CPU or on integrated graphics.
