Title: Does anyone actually click on signature campaigns?
Post by: UserVVIP on September 27, 2015, 03:02:55 PM
Personally, I do click on some links that interest me, but I wanted to know if anyone else in the community thinks that these campaigns are worth it for the company(s) paying for these.

Thoughts?

I don't think this thread belong to Meta (but most probably I'm wrong).

However I don't click any sig. ad link.

Maybe you're not wrong. I think this thread belongs to "Service Discussion".

I click on the sigs (very rare though) if I find the signature too attracting or interesting and/or unique.
I've never clicked signatures of any standard campaign.

I clicked the signature sometimes if it make me interested.
well i think signature campaign in this forum is worth for bitcoin company to advertise their service, because this forum is the biggest bitcoin community, although if you not click the sig campaign ads, it will make you know the company and what the service which they offer, except you use sig ads block.

I do, mainly because I'm too lazy to type something that's why I just click on links that are already available on signature spaces. Also, as I noticed it, there are only a few signature campaigns who contains referral links on them, and that's a pretty good catch for me. :)

I dont think the number of clicks matter as much as the impressions. Advertising is mostly about staying in peoples heads. If you constantly see the same slogan you are more likely to remember it.

To answer the question form a personal perspective: Yes, I do.

I do click on the ads sometimes if they interest me but not only gambling website signatures. Some people have their own signatures like blog links and it depends if it's worth viewing or not. However, I don't click on ads of newbies or non trustworthy members as they might share malicious links as well.

Meh. I agree with this, but I feel that some people have important signatures to me so I like to read them sometimes.

Good thinking though.

Quite right, I don't click on ads with referral links. In general, I do click on links on other members' signatures, some are campaign sigs, some are just personal links to projects. There are some hidden gems in people's signatures, you have to look for them.

Yes People do Click on the Signature if its NEW, Interesting. I think, The Sites in most of the Signature, People knows about them, and they dont need to click them, they just go to them Directly. Like Bit-x, i use this site, but never go to this site, through any signature, just Open a New tab and opened that site, similarly like other site.

Signatures are completely worthless in my opinion, and that includes my own signature.  Not only do I not click on signature campaign ads, but I have the signatures blocked in my settings. Signature campaigns are for retarded cocksuckers and arethe reason why there are so many garbage posts on this forum that say basically nothing.

Yes i do. If something of that signature can get my interest. Even i didn't think i don't need that service, but because of that signature can get my interest so i would try of that service.
Pretty good strategy for marketing i think.

I actually click on some signature campaign ads too. Not often, but when I see an interesting site or limited time promo being advertised, I'll take a look.

I think Signature Compaign Companies get a good profit by advertising as this forum is so popular and so many users to advertise is a good way to increase revenue :)

Yes I do click them if the site is new or if I haven't tried them before. Botcointalk has large number of members Who are interested in bit coin related service so most of the signature ad are worth for advertisers. Signature campaign also only run for some months except some because after all of the people here know about the site than its better to pull out the campaign.

Yes, people here clicks signature campaigns specially those that are newly launched. I checked my account with coinut and I was surprised to see I have a referral when I did not even invited anyone to sign-up under my link, i'm just posting my thoughts and join any discussion here in BCT.

I do a fair bit, but more often than not it's by mistake. I do find the economics of it quite fascinating and don't see how some of these campaigns can sustain or justify their expenditure. It must add up to some pretty brutal amounts.

Yes if the small description in which the sig is written interests me,  only clicked on an signature that didn't interest me once that too by accident

I am not sure if the sig campaigns are cost effective in general, but because of the sig ads I read, I was interested in it and started playing on Primedice since 2013, and of course have lost some bitcoin there.

Personally i do click on signatures especially when i see new signatures.
It makes me curious and i see what's inside, then i check their signature campaign thread to see the rate and rules.
Sometime it is very useful because you can get any early access, any promo etc.

On occasion out of curiosity I would click to find out about the company, I agree with an earlier poster that it is the amount of impressions which are the main point as this gives the service visibility, obviously any click throughs are a bonus.

do you think the guys who are running sig campaigns and paying for this are stupid if they don't get traffic from signatures?
I am sure they are getting more profit then they spend for signature campaigns that proves people click on ads

That's right, look bitmixer and bit-x. they have been here for long time, especially bitmixer. and i think they earn pretty much amount, so they still running sig campaign.

I am sure that theses signatures are doing what they are supposed to. These people wouldn't be giving away money for all this time for nothing, so it must be working.

Also, this is easy to check. Site operators can easily compare hits and number of accesses before the signature campaign and after some time with signature campaign running and then they would have a clear picture.

True. Also, some signature campaigns post a referral link onto their signatures so that whoever signed up under it would have directly signed up from clicking the signature. It's sometimes inaccurate, though, as some people might note the website down and visit it later directly.

Yes this is a neat feature. Many dice sites are doing this for example, so the signature campaign participant can really get lucky if someone signs up by clicking on his signature and after rolls huge rounds.

Maybe it is not often in common or maybe i should create another topic but do people check avatars link if any?
I have just joined in an avatar campaign and it seems interesting and it is not directly a link as you have to copy and paste it but if you are interested that is nothing :)
I do click in signatures, not often but i check if there is any news in every beginning of each month and i try to keep myself up to date with signatures news.

I am yet to ever click a signature on this forum lol.

I have to imagine they do work for the sites though as they go on long enough.

Maybe a site owner can chime in and let us know?

On previous campaigns i was part of, i used my own reflink, or used various url shorteners with tracking, so i can canfirm that people indeed do click on the signature links.
It really varies on the campaign, and the section you are posting into, but it does work. Otherwise, why do you think people are advertising that way..
bitcointalk is THE best place to advertize bitcoin related services, because targeted audience here is 99%.

Yeah, that's true. It's not so much about getting the clicks; it's more about getting the impressions on the bitcoin audience. Most people think that signature campaigns are all about the clicks, but it's not.

Url shorteners are a big turn off for me. I probably wouldn't click if I saw something like that show up.

If there are some referral link, as long as the site is legit, I'm no doubt to sign up under it

People might not click on the actual link but it does give exposure to the company.  The people paying for sigs are in the business of getting traffic in the best ways known, its pretty much tried and tested model now.

If it contains interesting things for me I don't hesitate to click the link. That's why signature campaigns pay for people here. Signatures are great for advertising, even if you don't click links you know there's a site about that.
I don't buy Coca Cola but I see its advertisements everywhere, it's about company's marketing strategy.
