Title: Did Karpeles really have something to do with The Silk Road?
Post by: tokeweed on October 02, 2015, 12:53:00 AM
When I was following Ross Ulbricht's case, the defense argued that Karpeles was the real DPR raising reasonable doubt that Ulbricht was DPR.

My question is why of all people, the defense mentioned Karpeles?  Is there something much more in this case?  Did Karpeles really set up The Silk Road so that Bitcoin would have a solid market and keep its value robust?

What do you think?

Karpeles was involved in other ventures since the early days of bitcoin so it is possible I suppose. I see he as criminal tendencies with the stuff he pulled with mtgox.

This ^^. Karpeles was involved any many early adventures this is true. If he could do criminal stuff with mt.gox anything is possible. Also, keep in mind mtgox and silkroad had a lot connection between each other.
