So what I'd like to see is either a section of feedback/rep threads or a rating system implemented.

I like this because it has personal consequences for a bad rating (miss out on interesting ideas). It also assumes that new users are constructive, which reduces insular groupthink. If you're talking rep for business transactions, you can use the Bitcoin-OTC web of trust.
