Title: Census
Post by: Come-from-Beyond on October 24, 2012, 09:19:14 PM
Noone knows how many bitcoiners are. Let's try to assess this number. Send 1 satoshi to 1HLoD9E4SDFFPDiYfNYnkBLQ85Y51J3Zb1 (http://blockchain.info/address/1HLoD9E4SDFFPDiYfNYnkBLQ85Y51J3Zb1) (but only once), so we'll have some info we could take into account.

PS: This is the address from block #2, addresses of blocks #0 and #1 are already used for other purposes.

One satoshi with a fee of 0.01. Sounds a lot to me. But ok.

U can add this payment to any transaction, so technically the fee will be 0 BTC.

No. Like the OP said, the address is from block #2. It very, very likely belongs to Satoshi Nakamoto himself, not to the OP.

This is another classic example of a founder debasing his disciples, first starting with some insignificant amount, then later increasing his requests.

This thread proves that Come-from-Beyond is Satoshi Nakamoto. I've made this claim before, but hazek deleted it. Only if Matthew were still here. He's the only one with enough Amish balls to publish this truism in Bitcoin Magazine.

BTW, you're doing it wrong: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=70553.0

If we spread the word about the Census then almost every bitcoiner will take part in it. At least we'll see if bitcoiners are a community.

Well, in any case I would say that I'm not Satoshi... So I say nothing  :)

@Phinnaeus, so if 100,000,000 people send a Satoshi to that Bitcoin address listed above this will debase Bitcoin? Oh my god, Bitcoin is going to collapse!! We're all doomed. The Bitcoin community has been debased by 1 Bitcoin.

Maybe Come-From-Beyond is a trans multidimensional mutating lizard Illuminati. I'm sure you've heard the story of Chicken Little. Bok bok bok bok. You know what I'm saying?

How do you know what proportion will participate. All you can do is work out a lower limit (and maybe not even that).

This info will still be useful.
