Title: How do I get my coins back on their way?
Post by: btcmike1010 on October 10, 2015, 12:58:43 PM
I tried to send bitcoins from my blockchain.info wallet to coinbase last night, but i see blockchain.info indicate 'Transaction rejected by our node. Reason: Transaction was previously accepted but has been pruned from our database.' Now the coins seem to have been 'returned' to my blockchain.info wallet (with > 60 confirmations of same), but the transaction is still unconfirmed and 'pending' on the coinbase receiving side.

My question is what's my best bet for getting these coins quickly and effectively to my coinbase account ? I really need the money today.

Can you post your txid here? I think it could be the 'double spend' attack makes your right tx don't got confirmed (like my signature payout, and they need to send me another tx).
If your coins showing up again, try to send them again.

i think this is my transaction ID:
d1b14fdfbb93fff5db2a33079b44b79dec32f12680d7bbe7cf99daaa24ad7a82

if i try to resend them from blockchain.info to coinbase, what can i do differently to maximize the speed of confirmation/ get a better result this time -- add a miner's fee ?  how much?

This is a transaction malleability attack which is influencing quite a lot blockchain.info wallets. Maybe the best for you would be if you would contact blockchain.info support, just to make sure that you don't create a double spend.

You will pretty much have to have a lot of patience to sort this one out, but you will not be in a danger of losing your coins at any time.

a few follow up questions:
1. any idea how long blockchain.info support takes to get back to a help request these days?
2. what is the risk if i try to send the coins again  from blockchain.info to coinbase (the coins after all seem 'returned' to the blockchain.info wallet -- i.e., > 70 confirmations that they're 'in' that wallet).  i don't understand what double spend means, but is that still a risk given these facts?
3. if i sweep the private key into another wallet (coinkite, for example) and try sending them from that new wallet, is that risky somehow?

Thanks for your patience.  I think i'm in over my head on this one.

OK, if the coins have returned to your blockchain.info wallet then you do what you have written above. Import them in another wallet and send from there. But send with bigger tx fee than when you sent them in the first transaction. In this way, this bigger fee transaction should get into a block faster than lower transaction tx. I think they should go through, your coins if you do like this.

You will do a double spend. Double spend means this, you will spend coins twice but since you are sending them to yourself than you don't care, since you don't care which one of the 2 transactions will confirm, you just want to get your coins there.

Let us know!

its the tx ID that got error, did you checked your wallet balance on some other block explorer and see if money is already returned to your wallet
if you see money returned to your wallet balance then yes you can try exporting private key from blockchain and adding it to another desktop wallet and do the transfer

what's a 'good' miner's fee that will speed things along?

I don't think this is that relevant, but do it however, just to make sure. I see that you sent previous with 0.0001 fee.

Well to make sure, you send it with 0.0002 now.

I re-tried the same transaction and it seemed to go through/ be confirmed.  Thanks for all your help, everyone.  what a great forum this is!

You can't do anything just wait or try to send with higher fees next time may be generous.
