i am missing NXT, NEM and Qora blockchain. All three are very likely to survive because the tech is one of the best at the moment.

You should add Stealthcoin XST.

Although the trading seems slow, this coin is one that have the most connections at bittrex for over a year now.

Because the best road is to maintain a healthy coin that never falters. At the end of the day, a useful coin has no forks or tendency to fork and dependable confirmation times.  adoption follows confidence and that confidence is built on a foundation of dependability.

FYI,  development are still going on behind the scenes, with a rule of "ninja launch". For those that read the white paper, you will know that a new blockchain, called Stealthsend, is in development with a swap xst <-> stealthsend.

XST should definately be listed in your top blockchain list.

1. please list all markets you know of
(must be on at least 5 of 12 exchanges cry, rex, polo, cryptopia, ccex, btc38, bter, bleu, bx.in.th, all, yobit, shapeshift)

NEM and Qora and XST ... short on exchange listings ... else please prove me wrong  ;)

NXT ... likely goes on the list but i like to see camp NXT whine ;)

Qora trades on Poloniex, Bter, and CCEDK, and honestly I think Polo is the biggest in terms of volume and highest quality alt exchange out there now. NEM is on Polo also, and on Bittrex. Yobit, Cryptopia, and C-Cex shouldn't even count, since afaik they only list Bitcoin clones because they can't be bothered to figure out how to list non-clone coins. Qora and NEM don't do huge volume, but they probably average more than Pandacoin, Paycoin (really?), Zeit, and other shitcoins on your list.

shitcoins fertilize the earth my friend

Qora on Polo, Bter, and CCEDK
NEM on Polo, Bittrex

*remind me of what happens to low volume coins on Bittrex?  do they post addnodes, block explorers?

Looking for long legs not hot trendy trades.

I'm more a fan of Qora, and my comment was more directed towards coins on Poloniex, which is remarkably loyal about not delisting shitty coins with low volume (see execoin and hirocoin), but, come on, Paycoin seems to be an outright scam that may or may not bring Cryptsy to its knees (see coinfire.io investigation). How can you expect Paycoin to be around in five years? And are Zeit and Pandacoin even listed on five exchanges? Or is this just a rule that you're making up for coins that you don't actually hold?

GRC falls short of qualifying because it is only listed on 3 exchanges on your list. (Holytransactions, the 4th, is not on your list for consideration.) It will be around 5 years from now. Its tie in with BOINC makes it pretty strong.

But this is a debate ... I am willing to scratch my "shitcoins" if other better coins are found.

XPY ... yes scam ... But does it work?  Infamous is nearly famous.

okay Holytransactions added to points variable for fuzzy math calculation

GRC is a dusty old sleeper it can hang with XEM at maybe

ATM it has a higher marketcap than Clams.
http://coinmarketcap.com/ (http://coinmarketcap.com/)

Also, its BOINC team grows by an average of 8 members per day.

Furthermore, with ties to BOINC, it will be around for quite sometime. (BOINC traces its roots to SETI, which has been around since the 1960s)
Also, this dusty old sleeper has an active dev who just updated the code 2 days ago.

NXT ... likely goes on the list but i like to see camp NXT whine ;)
NXT is alive 22 months and is in constant development. It's scheduled to have a hard fork in the next few months with new features, and new releases of the software are coming out every few weeks (https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/). It's much more mature than many other coins already included on your list.

Also, I'd add to this list BTCD, as it's a backbone of SuperNET and will soon have a decentralized, trustless gambling.

I'd also put a vote on BTS because of it's steady development.

GRID and NEM and Qora ... maybe ... slim chance ...too exotic
I'd like to point out that you have a PotCoin on your list... I'd call that exotic. ;)

Also, you misspelled "PPC" as "PP" on your list.

There are only a handful of innovative projects and their capitalization is underdog.  Even NXT, when you compare it to Bitcoin clones like Litecoin and Doge, is underdog too.  As some people had mentioned, there are also some 2nd tier coins like NEM and Qora.

I don't really care about coinmarketcap as most of the market data is manipulated.  Even if it were not manipulated, capitalization right now does not matter when technically any coin, tomorrow or in the upcoming future, could become a viral success.

good point.

but there are some solid tech innovative projects that have created hard assets ... the market cap might not go to the moon, but they are scalable and could hit multi millions.   case in point ... the gravity wells ... does BTC even have that?  also waste of energy!  inflation! anti-asic! this ETH concept of editable code without forking!  yadda yadda

But Why 42 only?  50 is better.

42. The number has received considerable attention in popular culture resulting from its central appearance in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as the "Answer to The Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything".

There is also a pretty notable (but inactive now) 42coin (from the 2nd wave of altcoins).

Wow Thank you,

Interesting, Only I hope that it dont be part of the Illuminati or something like to it :D .
Again thank you for give a valid and interesting answer, I was thinking on 50 only because numbers finished on 0 are more easy to read.

About 42coin it looks that dont was very successful after all.

Interesting,

However It is what it is, I was busy seing worst coins and I have lost the main. However glad to see the efforts to reduce the "bad" blockchains to call its  in some way and focus  on at least on that are trying to do something useful.

So I could say Thank you.

Just a side thought

A Polo listing is much more valuable than an Bitrex listing, likewise Bittrex listings is more valuable than Cryptsy listing, etc.
Also which index/data services list the coin, track the coin.

I think the list will be solid by end of Q1 2016 ;D

Based on the results of this poll @ 484 votes:

2) Stablecoin 59 (12.2%)
3) Worldcoin 41 (8.5%)

RIP stablecoin ... still alive but down in the low cap alts pools
otherwise this 2 yr old list is still valid but the former top ALT5 are now at the lower end of ALT42

Just a side thought
A Polo listing is much more valuable than an Bitrex listing, likewise Bittrex listings is more valuable than Cryptsy listing, etc.
Also which index/data services list the coin, track the coin.
I think the list will be solid by end of Q1 2016 ;D

Well nearing end of Q1 2016, so updating OP.  Now think we are looking at end of Q2 2016, Top30-35 are knowable, but lots of junk got pushed up on the China rally and expecting some of it to drop off by July 2016.
