Title: bitcoind ? Post by: Lurk on October 25, 2012, 05:18:05 PM I'm using windows 7 with the current version of bitcoin client. when i start bitcoind.exe a blank box shows up. Nothing else happens.
when i go to close it, i get a message saying bitcoind has stopped responding. Are there any files I might be missing to use bitcoind? Thanks. Title: Re: bitcoind ? Post by: MysteryMiner on October 25, 2012, 06:42:10 PM Bitcoind is a version without GUI also know as a Daemon. Run regular Bitcoin instead.
Title: Re: bitcoind ? Post by: stevegee58 on October 25, 2012, 07:37:57 PM I recall earlier this year that p2pool couldn't use bitcoin-qt as a server due to freezes/crashes so you had to use bitcoind.
Lately I've been using bitcoin-qt as a server with p2pool without problems. Title: Re: bitcoind ? Post by: Lurk on October 26, 2012, 12:32:19 AM its exits at the rpc stage and tells me to use this random password..... soo i entered the random password and defualt username into my bitcoin.conf file but its still telling me that it cant read my .conf and i should create one if it doesnt exist. its in the right directory and its not a .txt file its .conf not sure whats going on with it
Title: Re: bitcoind ? Post by: Lurk on October 26, 2012, 01:19:48 AM tried saving the conf file to a txt and then back to conf with no luck. Tried dropping the -server part and still the same error.
for some reason its not recognizing my .conf file I'm the administrator and run bitcoind as admin still doesnt help. |
