Title: [WTS] Complete Bitcoin mine 260TH/s KNC Neptune
Post by: Aus_miner on October 11, 2015, 10:16:49 AM
Hi Everyone

Due to the high price of power (in Australia) and low price of bitcoin i have for sale 84 KNC Neptunes , 168 power supplies (mixture of EVGA platinum, coolmaster platinum, Enermax platinum, Silverstone gold, Enermax gold 1200w), 2x 48 inch Portable Evaporative coolers, shelving, cat 5 cabling, 2x 48 port switches, 7x (3 phase 32amp to single phase 6x16 amp distribution boxes) 5x Knc Juipters, 5x Cointerra Terraminer IV. the KNC Neptunes have been run underclocked (2.1th/s or 180th/s total) as i did not have the power (140amps 3 phase) available to run them full speed (3.1th/s+) so there is no burnt pci-e ports. there is also another 5-10 power supplies which need new fans / thermal switches you can have for free

Issues with miners one of the Terraminers only hashes at half speed, 3 of the Neptune cubes are out of service 2 with fans that need to be replaced and one with a burnt chip on the circuit board, the neptunes came in two batches the first 40 machines have a small amount of dead dies  ~7% but the last 44 are much better ~2%. also the first 40 miners have a lcd screen on the control board which displays the ip address and hash rate but the bonus miners do not have a lcd display.

I am willing to send the Neptunes, Juipters,  Cointerras and power supplies via sea freight everything else i would like to sell locally please PM me with offers . Escrow via OGNasty

Have you thought about hosting them somewhere else? I have a place for them if you'd like. Shipping to Canada may be a bit tricky but for that much hashing power you should be able to recoup the cost.

Now on a different note if I was to say make a bid for these I'd be wondering if you'd be willing to sell just the first 40 units. I have a hunch these are batch 1 (original) Neptunes which is my opinion are better. When I got my compensation units I had nothing but problems with them. Compensation Neptunes are pulled from KNC's mining farms so they were heavily used and abused.

What frequency were you running the Neptunes at?  What is their efficiency at that freq?  How many watts for the 2.1TH?

allinvain - i bought the miners in 3 lots 10,10,20 i cant remember exactly but i think they were all batch one. i had a different experience with the batch one having more dead dies than the bonus (which also varies with the clockspeed running them at the stock 475mhz made more dies wake up) i will send you a pm

smracer - 325 mhz  @ -.00636v , I will go put a wattmeter on today to get you a precise gh/s / w

If you are interested we can get a group buy kind of deal. As I am in Canada also and would like some of his equipment.

Sure, that may work out. Also, if you want you can host it with me (see link in my signature). I am trying to get a bunch of S5s now but if I have some funds left over I'm definitely looking to grab some of his batch 1 units. If you know anyone else that wants to get in on a group buy arrangement feel free to let them in on it, and like I said if you all want them hosted with me I have the cheapest $/1kw price around.

I actually have free electricity so I don't need anything hosting. Just looking for the cheapest, fastest miners out there.

The only problem with this deal might be the shipping cost from Australia. It won't be cheap for sure.

I was just putting some numbers into usps and fedex the cost of shipping via air is 400 / Neptune which is just ludicrous. shipping containers are much more reasonable (a few thousand for the lot) but will take a month or two to arrive

Yeah your best bet is to just sell them locally. You live on an island and shipping is never going to be cheap.

Ouch. That is crazy high, but I am not surprised to be honest. Can you find out the shipping cost via shipping container to Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada? That is where the gear would be running assuming you or anyone else would want it hosted here in Canada.

I know I am useless at this moment, but this would have been a squirty wet dream to me to get this b!tch! I would want this, but would need a small corner rented from a

warehouse in Warehouse Industrial District in Regina, SK Canada. For my situation, that truly is Biting Off More Granola Bar Than One Can Chew.

allinvain - just got off the phone with a shipping company, i got a quote just for the 84 neptunes and 168 power supplies (i am thinking i will sell everything else locally) the shipping is broken into two parts 476 Aud to get it from my shed to the port and into a container and 643 Usd from Melbourne to Vancouver estimated time 30 days delivery, all freight goes through Vancouver, the price to Montreal is +240 Usd and +6 days , Toronto is also +240 Usd +6 days. Talking to the guy on the phone the easiest way to do it is from my side to pay to get it to the port and then the other party does the rest import duty, shipping to final destination etc.

Montreal would be ideal. We have a shipping address in Montreal so that works out perfect. From there we can drive the gear to Labrador or we'll see how much it would cost to put it on a truck and ship it to Labrador. As I said in my PM I would advise against shipping the PSUs but it's up to you in the end. My partner can take care of the importing and such.

Another thing, make sure you or whoever does the packaging does a good job of adding some protection or padding between the cubes so they don't get banged around too much as the heatsinks can come off during transit or something may snap off.

Also in relation to your PSUs, if you don't have PCIE splitters for them I would highly advise against using them as they are a fire and safety hazard. Most of the consumer grade PSUs use 18 AWG PCIE cables which are not suitable for the kind of power a Neptune cube draws. They will eventually melt. We've had it happen before.

So are you buying the entire lot?
