we are all waiting for that moment to see bitcoin go up (to da moon) but this $250 does not look like the start of it to me.
and as i write this price is hovering around $245 and does not look like it is going up. but i am happy with the small growth from $220 and i wish it keeps this trend up.

so finally bitcoin prices are recovering from that bitcoin xt drama.
So now we can again aim for 300 dollar mark.

China has a spot premium because Bitcoin is very likely the answer to dodging the capital controls on expatriation of funds out of the country.

I don't think Gemini will have a positive impact for bitcoins price, but I don't think there will be any sketchy business to make bitcoins price bubble blow up and pop... Those twins have seem to have done everything to make the site as legit and legal as possible.

There's no money on there and I can barely spot a single trade above 0.01 BTC. A market that tiny and thin shouldn't be compared to healthier ones.

Yes To Da Moon and higher. I`m glad to see bitcoin rise, i saw some optimistic comments about price rising to the sky and i have faith in bitcoin can make it.

That price is on Cryptsy in Euros - obscure exchange, less traded currency in a market with no depth. 

everytime we come close to $250 the price goes down again. it's currently not the right time i guess. but as soon as we break through the $250 on bitstamp and bitfinex we'll advance further.

And currently under federal investigation which means that its days could be numbered! This might have something to do with the current price as well. People are maybe trying any way possible to get their money out of the exchange!

Don't worry the entire market is fake anyway but within a few hours there will be a massive 'dump' again and we'll be back at 240 or lower.

$250 is that magic gspot for some. It is half way to $500 where the coinbaggers have been having wet dreams about for the past few years.

Bitcoin did hit 250.1$ today..i noticed this price on preev and am very happy that i bought some bitcoins at lower price..i am not going to sell them till next year and will probably buy more because i seriously think bitcoin will rise just wait and watch guys and have faith in bitcoin.. ;)

They need to work on the quality of their fantasies. That's pretty modest stuff but I suppose it still feels a long way away right now.

Bitcoin doesn't need to be priced up near old highs. It just needs to be priced where there is better liquidity. The priblem right now is BTC is losing to private chains and all the hype in the news covers blockchains in general not BTC.

250 seems like quite a reasonable valuation though, but im not convinced we have true organic stability at this price.

Which i pretty much like it, i don't want to think that it is a bump because there would be a dump after this.

we were on a good path before all the bitcoin XT drama started, and pushed the price down. i think the reason for the recent increase is the fact that xt drama has ended and everything is back to its normal path.

Checking bitcoinwisdom Bitfinex and Coinbase have broken the $250 border. However I'm not convinced we will hold it for long or climb higher. Too early I believe.At least we are moving up in small steps. :)

What "Bitcoin predictor" are you talking about?  Is there a site that acts like a ticker, but gives predictions on price? If so, that's pretty neat and have never heard of it before.

Default setting is slowly going down.

Bull setting is north north east. With an extreme bias to north.

We're shifting to bull setting so hold on tight.

Everything is possible, but I think we've seen enough rise for this month already. It will probably bounce between $230-$259 for the comming weeks. Can't see enough buy support to break through the $260 for now.

2x-3x at least it means that the price should be increased to $750 at least.

I'm not so sure about that.. When Bitcoin went to $1K from $100, it was a steady but rather quick jump to $1K... I'm not saying this is what this increase in price necessarily means.. But I don't think the price is going to drop all the sudden back to sub $200 levels again.

The speculation has become very true, the price is increasing.
By this trend i think that bitcoin will have a good value before the next halving.

We should be at 500 USD by next summer as a result of the halving. Don't sell everything though, 500 USD per bitcoin is nothing in the long run. You will regret it if you sell everything at 500.

I have coinbase on my other monitor all throughout the day, my day started here in my office with $268 and now it's down to $264, but it's just jumping from $264 - $267 level. So I guess this will be our rate for this week?

But the thing is, is that it did go below $200 for a very very short amount of time... I think sometime in August or beginning of September?  But regardless, people are now starting to wake up and paying attention to the prices now more than ever so they can "go in" on a good price point ever since the "big" spike.

the long term makes any price this year not important. as long as people believe in the future of bitcoin, then the long term price will be much higher than now. and we'll probably see a new ath within 5 years.

As long as there is enough interest in bitcoin from the masses and investors, even if we go low than $250, still bitcoin will survive that kind of crash.

I'm still speculating that it will go above $300 by the end of this year... I'm predicting $325, and by the end of November I think it can get up to $280.  But for some reason, I feel that December is going to be a "rocket to da moon" type of month.  People are worrying about the price increases before and after the halving, so I think people will stock up before the new year begins.

Anything can happen really but like I said in another thread I don't see breaking the $300 resistance this year, but it will be very close. I think we all agree this was so far one of the most stable years for Bitcoin, if not THE most.

prices seem pretty stable now, ~265 what i dont understand is how the prices on the chinese exchanges are like $10 higher than the amercian exchanges? cant people just buy a ton of btc at the american exchange and sell at th chinese one and profit like 4% rinse and repeat?

I think the problem with that, is the fact that most people don't link their cc's to their exchange site of choice.  I know I don't (or can't; got discover)... so that makes their bitcoin purchases not instant.  But for the people that are able and can get instant bitcoin purchases, I would see that would be a possibility... Not quite sure.

at least we never see the price lower than $260 in these several days but top price in this month is around $270-$275

For about 16 hours the price of bitcoin has been increased.
At the moment it is around +3 dollars which makes me feel a bit more happy.

In 24 hours bitcoin price changed from $266 to $269. This is a good movement in October. I hope we can touch $280 in the end of the month or in early November ;D. I still hope bitcoin price will break $270 limit tomorrow.

This is a good movement since we dipped sub-200. We have been in a slow and steady increase in price for several weeks now, and I think it would go on like this until the end of this year. I just hope that it holds its momentum until the halving.

I do not think that higher price is only $270+. In my opinion bitcoin may raise up to $300 level within this month to ensure $500 levels by end of this year. But anything is possible as bitcoin prices may fall on the vent of any bitter news. But expectation on halving supports prices to go up.

I believe if we stay on this steady price increase, we will be just fine... as long as no huge pump happens where it spikes the price, there will be no huge dump... Slow and steady wins the race gentleman.

Probably up and not down. We have seen some drops of six dollars in hours only to be up again in the following hours. Arbitrage traders are loving this range imo, and they won't let the price drop without profiting from it. Also, the resistance seem to be strong at 264. That means more support for the next increase.

Perhaps this will be a slowly raising price due to the halving next year, making for a soft raise, instead of going down and up abruptly...

ya these little fluctuations are common in the bitcoin price, its been around 260-275 in the past week, overall though its been steadily going up compared to last month, imo by the end of year it should be around 280-300ish

Which is the best thing for bitcoin in general... marginal traders love a volatile market to make a quick profit, but if they see that the price is going to rise and fall, at the most, around $6 or so dollars.. then they won't even bother.  This is a very good thing for people who want to see an increase in price that's going to matter in the long run, rather than some pump and dump fiasco as was seen in 2013.

Just have to investigate some things in the way Chinese people wanted bitcoins.

If prices go up 300+ without staying at 270+ for some times then prices will surely come down because who ever brought less then 250 range they will start booking profits so prices will surely come down but if prices stays at 270 mark for some times and move to 300 mark then prices may not go back to 250 level.

Not if there is some constant buying pressure from somewhere coming that makes us rise more and more. If we hit $300, and then continue to $310, $320 and so on this can turn into a huge run.

I agree though that $300 is a huge psychological level that is sitting there as a mountain for 6 months already. Even when we were dropping, it took us a long time to brake this $300.

Things are starting to get heated up for the next halving, plus all the very insanely cool tech like sidechains are already seeing the first signs and you cant call it vaporware anymore. It's happening. The next 8 months will be crucial. I sense something big is due for june 2016. We must keep our eyes open.

I can see the price being around the ball park of $400-$500 around 8-9 months from now, due to high speculation of what the halving will do.  After the halving happens is where we are going to see the shit show of high spikes and drops... going to be a crazy time speculating what is the next best move around that point in time... but it will be fun, you can bet on that.

What I think is price should move slowly then it will survive higher prices otherwise it will back to original price with same speed. So at the current price if it sustain for couple of days with trade volume then probably will see soon 300+. Hope this time it will not go back to 200 level again soon.

It's fun to see that a "whale" on BTC-E is trying to keep the price down with a 330BTC sell order at $273. The funniest thing is that he is successful in doing so as it seems to scare off people since they are not buying through that sell order. If it was at Bitstamp or Bitfinex, these 330 Bitcoins would vanish instantly.

$300 by weekend yes, but during weekdays, I doubt it. For some reason, when the week started at $280, rate will linger in that level and will shoot up by weekend, but much better if it reached $300 during weekdays.
