I didn't even bother because I knew they'd be sold out within five seconds, I just want the game anyway, I think the pip-boy is just pretty much a nice looking plastic placeholder for your phone but that's about it :P it's not really going to add or take away anything from the experience that much, I don't really bother with collectors' editions.

Also, I can totally understand buying a new computer for the game, this kind of stuff is precisely why I decided to finally upgrade because I didn't want it to be an unpleasant experience when I loaded it all up.

I'll be upgrading my build too, probably start from scratch. I can't play Fallout for around a month. Due to an expedition in Norway. Avoiding any spoliers is going to be hard. The remaining of this year and early next year is going to be a good few months of gaming for me with Fallout 4, Division, Star wars battlefront and Mount & Blade: Bannerlord coming out.

Does anyone here know why my for some people Fallout 4 appears to have switched it's unlock date to November 9th? Seems to be that they're either adjusting for daylight savings or somethings up, they just did it last night.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure whether that's the actual release date or whether they've just adjusted it for daylight savings to come out on Monday at midnight, I suspect it will probably be monday at midnight for us UK people.

Even though I had never played any game from the Fallout series, I did watch a lot of videos and I can say that it should be excellent. I'm almost as excited as I will be when the next installment of TES comes (it's been 4 years now since Skyrim!). Unfortunately, I will probably not be able to play it until vacation time sets in. That's around Christmas. No idea how you guys could find the time for it?

2 days to go! Yes, I'm counting down, supposedly on Monday the game might release early for a few countries, I have already go Fallout 4 pre-loaded thanks to tricking steam into thinking I'm in seattle, I heard though New Zealand is going to release the earliest.

Actually the answer is yes; there is technically a link. The preload can already be downloaded via torrent. Although I do not want to give him a link for two reasons: 1) Possibly posting only because of signature; 2) A great game and series such as Fallout should be paid for. Lethn I think that the preload on torrent is going to work with Steam. That might give you a head start as you will probably be able to play the game once unlocked.

By the way, if anyone suddenly finds the game unlocking tomorrow let us know which country you're from, that way I can switch my location and play it a day early :D I know there's going to be a couple of countries it will happen to but I don't know which ones yet for certain.

LiteCoinGuy, if you have a VPN by the way apparently you'll be able to play early, I got my pre-load running over the weekend because of my VPN I'm subscribed to, the moment it releases any of us who have VPNs should be able to play it, without having to wait until midnight.

IMPORTANT RELEASE DATE INFORMATION


I just saw a great tip on reddit guys on Fallout 4 and it turns out that if you want to play the game a day early and you're in europe if you use a VPN, switch the store settings and the region download settings on steam to New Zealand you'll be able to unlock the game a day earlier than the official release date. I've confirmed this is working, the countdown on the Fallout 4 page say 1 day 15 hours for me and it now only says 22 hours, so this means if you don't want to stay up all night just to wait for the unlock you don't have to.

So if you want the game at the absolute earliest it seems you need to switch to either New Zealand or Australia, apparently New Zealand is the earliest officially.

I was never really that big into the fallout franchise but I am still very curious as to what they can add to the game.

It's been confirmed they've added settlement building and a huge amount of crafting in it, plus their official game footage shows the player flying a jetpack in the armoured suit you can have as well as flying a vertibird, in short they've added lots and lots, I can also confirm that the game is 28GB in size which is massive for any game especially if it's compressed.

So there's less confusion about the timezones now because I was confused as hell at first.

I can confirm that if you're using a New Zealand or Australia I.P address to unlock the game it will unlock at 1:00pm GMT.

Looks insane! Can't wait!

Just finished playing Far Cry 4 and MGS5 and both were great!

You don't need to wait until the 10th, if you get a VPN and change your store region and download settings to New Zealand you can play it on the 9th.

The game has been released in New Zealand and Australia and tons of people are trying to access it through VPN, is anybody else having trouble launching the game? I got everything installed and figured it all should be working but it seems to just CTD without an error as it loads up! :(

I think I might just dowload a crack on principle so I can play the damn game offline properly if this is due to everybody trying to activate the game at the same time.

Okay guys, just an FYI I can confirm there's a legit crack of Fallout 4 that's gone out now by CODEX, I'm going to put that in so that I don't have to fuck around with all these stupid regional locks and DRM, pirates yet again have come to the rescue.

AMD 8 core CPU 4.0ghz before anyone says anything, I can run Battlefield 4 on high settings, I was really looking forward to this game.

That's actually the exact same bloody one as me, so why isn't it running? Did you do anything to get it working or run into any issues?

They are. It depends on the DRM being used. There are cracks that work for specific systems and do not work for others. There are also cracks that work for most systems but some people encounter problem (rare situations). There are also games that almost never get cracked. You should not complain about free stuff (unfortunately it does not work sometimes).

I think I have it running now! This is an old cliche but I dowloaded the absolute latest AMD drivers and it suddenly ran.

So what is the consensus on the game so far for those that have actually played it? Is it worth playing?

I have to wait a little while to play I'm building a new pc and I just have to buy and install the GPU but I'm pretty busy these days  :(

It's totally worth playing.

Absolutely, I was terrified I'd have to wait for a patch at first but it's actually very good, my only complaint as other people are noting everywhere is there is a weird unreal tournament style mouse lag with the mouse movement, but I expect they'll patch that if enough people complain.

I have a fix for the mouse lag
Go to C:\Users\{YOUR NAME}\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\
Open both Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini
In the [Controls] section of both files, add this line:
bMouseAcceleration=0
